GC: EA "certain" of classic IP revivals

Prince of Persia-style comebacks likely, says EA Montreal VP
Alan Tuscan, Vice President of EA Montreal has told CVG at Gamescom that EA legacy franchises, such as 16-bit classic Road Rash, could make a return to the spotlight in a similar way to Ubisoft's Prince of Persia.

"I am certain that some of them will come back. I won't be able to tell you which one," said Tuscan.

"Look at Ubisoft and what they did with Prince of Persia - in my memory one of the best exercises in taking a beloved franchise and making something really special out of it.

"So from this example, I'm pretty certain that we'll see within EA as well some franchises that we say hey - we're keen, we're excited, the audience wants it.

"Maybe it's going to be Road Rash that's going to be one. I don't know."

We would rather have Road Rash than Desert Strike. What would you like to see? And don't say Risky Woods.

theme hospital, syndicate, Road Rash and Black and white.

come to think of it wasn't the haunting an EA game i'd definately be up for a remake of that.

Cannon Fodder or Syndicate please

as much as i'd love to see a cannon fodder redux. There was one planned for the PSP but i don't know if it actually came out.

you'd be talking to the wrong guy. Sensible softwares back catalogue is owned by codemasters. not EA.

Fifa and NFS seeing as it's been ages since we've had new version of either... oh wait... :o

Syndicate, Theme Hospital/Park, Dungeon Keeper (I'm sure that was EA published seeing as it was a Bullfrog production too), Road Rash too methinks! I'd forgotten all about Magic Carpet... holy shit that game was awesome!

There's already rumours of a new Syndicate title in the works (and I'm hoping for that one myself) so no point asking for that.

But I liked the Desert Strike games back in the day, they could revisit that one. Road Rash was okay but I never really got into it that much. Ultima would be another good one.

Revivals of old games are good... doesnt mean you will love the new-style versions though.

Im a big fan of original Prince Of Persia and also a fan of TheSandsOfTIme.. but i absolutely hated the new PoP game... HATED IT.

Cannon Fodder,Road Rash and Desert Strike series - yes.

Funny how EA never release "collections" like Sega etc do.They did have some excellent 16 bit era stuff.
