I really can't see price cuts from either, to be honest. It was only last year that the 360 got a price cut and it is currently the cheapest system at base level. MS don't profit on the hardware anyway apparently so if they did drop the price they would lose money. I expect the 360 to stay at it's current price for another year at least. I can't see it happening to the Wii either. Why, logically would you drop the price of a system that sells so crazily well? There is a huge demand at £180 so why drop it?
As for MW2 being 'the biggest game ever'. No. _________________ "Our world cannot be viewed through the glasses of common sense" - Masato Arai.

I don't know what irritates me most at the moment all the MW2 related articles or the PES2010 crap all over gameradar's site. I have no doubt will be big but I am hoping its not as big as people seem to think (or as good for that matter) but I guess time will tell. |

The verdict is still out in regards to whether or not MW2 will be the biggest selling game to date. In light of the fact that the amount of gamers has increased, combined with the huge popularity of MW which MW2 has built upon, it is possible for MW2 to have the largest real-term sales figures for a multiplatform game to date. Whether it will also have the largest percentage of saturation amongst gamers to date is another matter since it'll have to sell more to meet similar adoption rates from past games when the gamer population was smaller. _________________ "Unfounded optimism is no worse than relentless pessimism." |

Ignoring tech, and for an uninformed consumer, £180 + game for a Wii is still appealing against £250 + no game for PS3. I'm waiting for a £250 PS3 Slim package before I buy. _________________ ---! Get Dropbox !--- |

I can appreciate why people are displeased with the unusually high sales price for MW2, but to actively want it to be bad as a game seems petty to me. It's one thing to want Activision to learn a lesson and quite another thing to want the game itself to disappoint the millions of gamers that seem likely to play it. I'm hoping it's at least as good as MW and from what I've seen so far I shouldn't be disappointed once my pre-order copy arrives. _________________ "Unfounded optimism is no worse than relentless pessimism." |

I just don't see it selling as much as that.
It'll be huge - no doubt - but, getting to the kind of levels of the Top 10 biggest selling games of all time?....No chance. I'd be very surprised if it sold as much as Mario Kart Wii, for example (17.39 Million copies sold).
I doubt any game will touch its' sales figures this year - perhaps The Beatles: RB will run it close...I guess we'll see.

Biggest game in revenue generated or units sold? He does seem rather excited that people preordering are upgrading to the more expensive steelbook version. |

There's too many great games coming out in the next 6 months to pander to Activision's greed. I'm sure it'll be good - I have enjoyed the series, but it just ain't worth more than the competition.
I'll buy it when the price drops to a reasonable ammount. |

There is absolutely zero chance of MW2 being the biggest selling game of all time. _________________ Born to be a Wanderer...

I think he's referring to the US sales only and lets face it, there's a good chance of it selling extremely well over there. _________________ That's not even a come-back Velocitar, that's just you making a token show of impotent defiance after being humiliated yet again. Did anyone notice the article in todays Mirror about missing equipment in the British Army, including night vision goggles. It may just be coincidence but maybe Activision are putting our lads in danger with this Prestige edition |

Considering that it would be impossible to establish such a claim as fact until the end of time - which in itself may, or may not, be possible - renders it all but useless except perhaps for sensationalist journalism and PR.
P.S. Nevermind the other nitpicky details of whether or not the measurement scale would eventually include other potential civilisations' games (this presumes there are may be other intelligent life in the universe with games). _________________ "Unfounded optimism is no worse than relentless pessimism."

If that's the case then the punters are getting an unbelievably good deal on the NVGs. The military versions usually cost thousands upon thousands of pounds for a single pair, and they are top quality to boot! _________________ "Unfounded optimism is no worse than relentless pessimism." |
