New Earthworm Jim for XBLA, Wii, PSN

Gameloft heads new worm adventure
Mobile dev Gameloft is heading a brand new Earthworm Jim game for PSN, Xbox Live Arcade and WiiWare.

The new instalment in the much-loved run and gun platform series will see an "exclusive one month run" on Xbox Live Arcade, the outfit says, before making its way to mobile and the other console download services. Will it be able to live up to the originals though?

"Earthworm Jim resonates with millions of people worldwide and we are excited to have one of the best developers in the industry create this game for a new audience," said boss of Interplay, which holds the Earthworm Jim rights, Herve Caen.

"Gameloft's creativity coupled with its innate knack for innovative games, makes us 100% confident that the result will be nothing short of stellar."

The new game will be available at the end of the year.

Awesome, I remember being so bloody excited about Earthworm 2 on the Mega Drive coming out. Gets pretty damn hard though.

Then they went and ruined in on the N64!

I'll look forward to this then as he is a great character but just been ruined and wasted.

WHOAAAA NELLY!! Cool news, and Gamesloft aren't as crap as they used to be. They've done some pretty good wiiware stuff. I'm gonna give them the benefit of the doubt.

forget jim i want a new STREETS OF RAGE game
Posted by WHERESMYMONKEY
why the hell would you want that. You saw what they did to Golden Axe. leave it to rest. Or alternatively go and play Madworld instead i'd say it a worthy successor to Streets Of Rage.

yer they did mess golden axe up big time. but if done right sor would be good BUT they would mess it up as well so point taken

I was an obssessive Jimhead back in the day. I loved the first 2 games, I remember the second one coming out just prior to Xmas on the Megadrive, awesome times.

I've even got some of the figures somewhere, picked 'em up when I visited the states, I hope this new title ain't crap.
