Civilization out now on iPhone

Civ Revolution said to contain "hundreds of hours of gameplay". We believe them...
Sid Meier's Civilization Revolution is out now for $4.00 in the US or £2.99 in the UK. You'll have to move quick though, the introductory price will double after 49 hours.

You get 16 playable civilizations, multiple difficulty levels, an integrated tutorial and some other bits and bobs the press release wouldn't tell us about.

Here's what the 360 version looked like:

"The iPhone version features new graphics and an entirely new gesture-based interface that takes advantage of the power of the platform," says publisher Take-Two.

"We're thrilled to deliver our signature strategy game on such an exciting and dynamic platform," said Sid Meier. "We choose platforms based on where we feel consumers will have the best gameplay experience with our titles, and the iPhone allows us to introduce this gameplay to mobile consumers - new and old."

If you're still unsure, why not download the free demo? Be rude not to.

Yes Take 2, what about those ‘new’ graphics? They are woeful, I downloaded the lite version to have a look, and though the main essence of gameplay is unchanged from the console version, graphically it looks like something from 1991. Still, I’m a sucker for these games and as there is nothing else like that on there I’ll probably buy if for playing bored on the tube. Although not if anyone is looking.
