I will wait until the next Zelda or Metroid before I buy a M+. It's a brilliant game. Best game i've played in a very long while. Nice to see Nintendo still doing so well. They deserve it. Thats a shame wii sports resort is basically a tech demo for the next zelda/ pilot wings. With a decent tennis game thrown in. I really enjoy WSR. I don't play the original anymore. No need to. I have 2 WM+ addons at the mo. I am going to pick up Tiger Woods this weekend for a 3rd. I do need one more controller still, but I'll wait for the next must have WM+ game to come out and hopefully it will be bundled with a 4th add-on. (Should do though) Then get another controller and nunchuk at the same time. :) Going strong already. Nintendo have the top selling games in the world right now with this, Monster Hunter 3 and Dragon Quest XI all being big sellers. All games I'll pick up at some point in their lifespan... i love how posters are trying to look core gamer by distencing themselfs from resort
i love wm+ i love resort AND I AM A CORE GAMER hell show mii a ps3 x360 game with this level of precision physics OUCH
wm+ ir mouse pointer and analog stick the future of 3d gaming No one say anything negative or kingwii will get her knickers in a twist and hit the caps lock key Ha Ha! It's a solid game which is tough to dislike - it does what it say on the tin and is bucket loads of fun. Only Nintendo seem to be capable of creating content this fun and whimsical. How many of you bought this shite? Oh please! Wii Sports Resort is a real turn off for me, bring on New Super Mario Bros Wii and Monster Hunter 3! But negative is all you ever do dannybuoy. If it's Playstation it's heaven sent but anything else is second rate. Stick to the PS3 forum or Gametrailers forums and bathe in your deluded positivity.
WSR is a good laugh and like ANY game the novelty will wear off but I haven't played my 360 for weeks as this and Tiger Woods with Motion Plus are too good to put down atm (although Batman will change that) Around 600 thousand? Resort is actually a very good game. The Island setting makes it feel more like a "proper" game than the original, and the Motion Plus works very well. Only grumble is that one or two games aren't as good, but the Island Flyover is great, the fencing is amazing, and the archery rocks. Have you played it? It's the best game of the year so far. I am really enjoying this game a ton and with only one M+. I have just been passing the controller around. I am almost tempted to just run out and buy another M+ but I will wait until Red Steel 2 is out to get my second M+ with it.
By the way, I can only seem to get my sword fighting gamer score to around the 1300 to 1400 level and then the AI just stomps me into a fine paste. Any tips? And what are some of your scores in the various resort games? I'm not sure what my scores are, I think about the same for sword fighting. But I am finding the table tennis champion really bloody hard. Once you get to 1,500 points you have to beat one girl, Lucia (at least on mine, don't know if it's different on others') and I can't get more than three points. She just pushes you out so wide and puts so much spin on it - she's doing my bloody head in!!
But it's a great game. Monkey is right as in it shows the way thay controls will work with m+ for the future, but it's much, much more than a tech demo. It looks like a demo is needed anyway - if Nintendo don't hold developers' hands and show them exactly what to do, most don't have a clue how to get anything out of the wii. All they seem to know about are graphics and the same old same old when it comes to games - neither of which are the wii's strong points. @ CosmicKite
Thanks for keeping track of my ramblings. It's nice that you are aware of my opinion ;-) Sure, some times I'm a little harsh on Wii and true I do give the PS3 love, but thats just because how my 'now gen' gaming has panned out. I went from N64 to Cube to Wii, to be let down and found PS3 offered a warm bed, a hot mug of soup and a comforting supply of games. I actually wish I could stop my trolling tendencies, but I can't. Oh well. ;-) Its all fun and games Yes - Lucia is evil!!! I can barely manage a point against her let alone 3. Still - it's good to have a challenge
The game *is* a bit of a mixed bag: a couple of the sports don't have a great deal of appeal (to me at least), whilst others are fantastic; and though I'd rather hold the wiimote like a joystick than a pretend plane, the island flyover is great (just have to hunt down the last few balloons to finish!). Add to that the excellent, though exhausting, sword-fighting game; the brilliantly executed archery game, and of course table-tennis, it's definitely worth the cash, particularly considering how much the M+ retails at...
A "tech demo"? To a certain extent perhaps it is, but it is great fun and shows what can be done with the M+ sensor, and so sets a standard that 3rd parties now have to beat. I'm obsessed with table tennis and am also trying to beat the evil Lucia! :D My aim is to have her before this week is out! |
