Retailers date LittleBigPlanet PSP

Though they don't all agree...
LittleBigPlanet for PSP will be on shelves on October 30, if Amazon is to be believed. Or it will be out on November 20, if you find yourself more inclined to believe Play.

Both retailers have just slapped dates on the PSP big-hitter, but unfortunately their crystal balls aren't giving out the same readings.

Update: Sony has told CVG: "The release date for LBP PSP hasn't been set yet." That is all. Update ends.

Watch tons of other great game videos in HD over on our video channel!

Both Play and Amazon, however, do have the same box art for the game (pictured on the right) so that would seem pretty final, if you find yourself caring about such things.

LBP is probably more suited to the PSP, for the simple reason that it will always be at hand when you get a lightbulb moment for a new idea, rather than having to wait until you get home.

However, one thing is puzzling me. How come I haven't heard any music being played on the video? The music was a highlight of the PS3 version, so to have to do without it seems wrong.

May I suggest the Halo theme tune?

Is it possible to transfer levels from PSP to PS3, Mr Mark?
Posted by nottsville
I think they have said that there will be no cross-compatibility between the games.

It's going to be a good year for the PSP, with this and GTPSP. 2010 is looking good as well, I am particularly looking forward to VC2 and Agito XIII.

LBP is one of my most palyed games of the last year. It has the added bonus that my two year old son will sit and watch me play it so I can look after him and play PS3 at the same time. You cant really do the same thing with GTAIV.

I think Nottsville is right. However, I suppose you could use the PSP version as a design aid for the PS3 version, if you were that way inclined.

To be able to transfer objects would be useful.

Do we know if this one will have much of the "create" aspect? Haven't heard much about it being included.

Hrumph! As soon as I heard that the ps3 and psp versions were in no way compatible I lost interest. It is another opportunity to link the hardware lost. As a ps3 owner who simply doesn't have the time to sit for hours at home developing levels (due to family commitments) I would have loved to have developed vehicles, buildings etc on my psp whilst on the go to use on my ps3 level. What's the point of creating levels on two different formats? I personally think that LBP should have been a psp title in the first place, it was better suited to on the go play / design and it didn't sell that well on ps3 (12.99 on play.com when it had only been out a few months!). Can't see present LBP owners forking out again. Come on Sony, joined up thinking please!!

This, GTPSP and hoppefully a new football manager handlheld that doesn't delete your name after 3 seasons and I'm all over the psp again.

No longer shall I fear long haul flights.

Just need to get work to send me abroad now...
