Gran Turismo revealed

PlayStation racer takes pole position
Sony Computer Entertainment's Gran Turismo is already looking to be THE PlayStation racer for 1998. Developed by Sony Japan, GT is quite simply jump leads ahead of anything else you've seen. It's a road racer set across loads of Japanese cities. There are 120 (count 'em) cars to pick from, ranging from Mazdas to top-notch Ferraris, and these have been modelled so they handle just like the real thing. We've seen a one level demo, but already we're convinced Gran Turismo is something special. The graphics are bloody incredible, with the level of detail outstanding throughout. Crashes result in knackered paintwork, and you can actually see dents appearing in the bumpers and sides! Destruction Derby has got nowt on this. The icing on the cake is a split-screen two-player mode.It may still be six months away, but make no mistake: the PlayStation will own the streets this summer…
