PC denied Modern Warfare 2 special editions

No night vision goggles OR tin cases for PC gamers
The PC version of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will be denied any of its lavish special editions revealed for consoles.

Neither the Prestige Edition - which comes with a working pair of night vision goggles - nor the Hardened Edition - which comes with an art book, tin case and code to download the original Call of Duty - will be available, reports Big Download.

%"£%!!!"$%^%$ you activision
Posted by pieman
why not buy the game then go to ebay and buy some night vision goggles will be a better set of googles too , cant wait to see the news reports of someone mug, rape, killd by someone useing them anyway HA
Posted by lawless1891
My guess is,it's just another attempt by Activision to kill off the retail copy and move everyone to downloadable only content.
Posted by h3r3tic666
Activision always been a bunch of Asssholes anyway ! Not really surprised by that move .. they can stick their ****ing nightgoogles and download code up their ****ing arse !
Posted by kimoak
Damn! And I really wanted the goggles to sneak in girls rooms at night to letch over them!

;)

Looks like you have a loong way away of guessing then, as that isn't true. :)

It is most likely due to the limited amount of the goggles, and also the fact that maybe they couldn't find someone to distribute the PC version of the COD DLC. Too many people have their eyes closed in this place.

AFter The chronicles of riddick 3 activation ******** now this .. they want to kill the 2nd hand market

I'm just glad i got my preorder in before game jacked up the price.

Personally I'm not bothered in the least. I have a pre-ordered copy of the PC retail version at a decent price, and I had no intention of forking over the requisite price for the hardcase version.

Some of the comments on here gave me a good chuckle for their colourful imagery though. Cheers!

bet they're gutted!

they will just download it, play it for free with the highest resolution, best graphics and download the free DLC.

Well if the Prestige edition HAD come to PC, I probably would have forked out the £120 for it because I played CoD4 for well over 15 days, but you can look it at as either losing a pair of NVGs which you would use once and then go to the back of the cupboard or the fact you've saved £90. :D

To be fair though how many PC Gamers would actually buy the special editions?

Anyway what a waste of money for Activision but at least we are still getting the game on time and not scewing us that way!
Posted by Zero_Cool
Being a PC gamer i couldn't careless about special edition of games. All that shit takes too much space anyway.

Most PC gamers will be downloading the game anyway...so this Prestige edition would just be a waste of money.

Activision know this, hence why no PC edition.

This Prestige edition is just another reason for Activision to get £££££ out of gullible gamers.

PC CoD is superior to console anyway. The day it isn't is the day I stop buying CoD games.

feels a bit cheesy with keyboard and mouse to be honest. your almost guarenteed head shots everytime and no force feedback is stale.
Posted by rob.lea
I guess i'll just have to make do with paying half the price of the console version and playing it at twice the resolution :D , i can live without the gimmicks.

Yup. That pretty much sums it up.

Your shoulder must be killing you given the size of the chip you carry around on it. How are the grapes? Seems like you have an extreme case of sour grapes. Are you really that afraid and insecure about your own choices and the things that you value, that you feel compelled to try and diminish anything and everything that might offer some form of non-conforming resistance to your tiny, private world? Do yourself a favour, open your mind as well as your eyes and explore a larger world. Life's too short.

Haha so true. That said why would be want force feedback? If we did we wouldn't be shooting with a PS3 controller thats for sure. Ever fired a military grade weapon SVD? That PS3 feels like nothing compared to that so maybe you should stop complaining and get rid of the chip. Jesus man I have nothing against you I just get fed up with you flaming every ****ing article about your fanboyness. You can sure as hell have your opinions but stop pressuring them on us like you are.

I don't buy limited edition versions unless it was at the same price as the normal edition.

No loss to me. I don't need most of the useless tat and i won't lose sleep over it.

WaW was a download only purchase for me and felt like nothing more than a CoD4 mod, and seeing as this looks pretty much the same I'm definately not disappointed. Only thing that disappoints me is that Bioshock 2 and co are all scared shitless by the release of MW2, meaning I'll have nothing but Assassin's Creed 2 to play this winter

Surely not!?!? Download the free DLC? Is that allowed? Does that sort of thing go on in the underground world of PC gaming?

It's not that PC gamers are guaranteed headshots, but if you stand in the open for 15 to 20 seconds attempting to aim at opposing players, they probably do have time to line up their sights right between your eyes (go off and make a cup of tea, come back, sit down comfortably again), then press the mouse button and inevitably take you out.

Isn't 'force feedback' what you get in steering wheels, not controllers? I thought the vibrating of controllers was referred to as 'rumble'. Perhaps that explains why you struggle with shooter games. Perhaps try using a joypad instead of a steering wheel... it'll probably do wonders to improve your aim!!

Anyone who says shooters are played better on anything than keyboard/mouse are just plain wrong.

However, I always use my 360 controller on my PC for racing games (: they do suck on kb/mouse.
Posted by shadyMrPatch
Lol - perhaps they realise that the PC players don't give a **** about the bolted on marketing shite anyway.

Considering the number of people that'll steal it for free I would imagine their opinion of PC gamers/the chances of selling £120 versions is pretty low/unlikely anyway.
