Monster Hunter Tri coming "early 2010"

After the taking Japan by storm
Capcom's action adventure game, Monster Hunter Tri, has been a hit and Japan and now it has its eyes set on the west, with an "early 2010" release now confirmed.

Confirmation comes via Capcom "following its recent and highly successful launch in Japan with day one shipment numbers exceeding one million," as the Japanese firm boasts.

"Monster Hunter Tri depicts a living, breathing ecosystem where man co-exists with the fantastic beasts that roam both the dry land and the brand new sub-aqua environment - a first for the series," explains Capcom.

"Living the life of a hunter need never be a solitary experience with the option of split-screen mode where two players can hunt co-operatively or form a team of up to four hunters via the game's custom online Wi-Fi mode.

"Even solo players do not have to face Monster Hunter Tri's challenging quests alone as they will be ably accompanied by Cha-Cha, an AI hunting partner whose skills will prove invaluable. New items, weapons and armour sets will be also available to assist the hunters as they embark on the most epic Monster Hunter adventure to date."

woohoooo!!!!! 2010 just gets better and better.

No core games on the wii. pfft.

wonder if that means they'll be releasing the black wii and new classic controllers outside of japan.

2010 is going to be a very good year for gaming, across all consoles. :)

I just looked up that new classic controller-Kudos to Nintendo for that, it looks like it will be a big improvement, and they probably will release that over here. I wouldn't get your hopes up over the black Wii though, stuff like that is usually Japan-exclusive. Do you have to buy the classic controller for this? It looks like the Wiimote might be a little difficult to implement.

I want this. And a black Wii too so it'll match everything else under my TV (which is also black)...

Can't think of a third party Wii release I'm looking forward to more than this. Just a pity we have to wait till next year.-I'll have to console myself by watching those brilliant trailers again.
