Way too many better games coming during October. Its a fantastic game. But its gone from having no competition to incredibly tough competition.
Sony really have sunk it on the other platforms considering what it now has to fight against. For us that don't want MW2 i'd say its a welcome addition to the holiday line up now that bayonetta and Bioshock 2 have been pushed back. I was very disappointed with the PS3 version. - Glitchy graphics with some very ugly screen-tearing. Couldn't get used to the twitchy aiming either, though this may have been down to those horrible analogue sticks.
That said, I will be getting the Wii version. I always prefered its more characterful and humourous art-style. The Wii version looks to have the best control scheme, though I am a sucker for HD, so I don't know whether I'll get that or the 360 version.
Apparently the 360 version does run better than the PS3 one, so hopefully no glitching and/or screen tearing (I HATE screen tearing! Biggest problem of HD gaming). They say the PC version is the best graphically, but i've heard that they took online play out of it! The Xbox version is generally considered the best with the PS3 version second and the PC third of that version of the game. The 'cartoon' version is apparently vastly better on the Wii - the PS2 version is supposed to be terrible.
Also, to the people saying that October is a bad month, that was probably Sony's plan, to damage sales on other systems by timing the release to a clogged month and to get people to buy PS3s so that they could play early. David Reeves also said at the start of the year that we would see more leveraging of Sony properties (Ghostbusters among them) in the future. Everyone should probably get used to things like this happening. Imported the 360 version when it came out stateside. Good game and a good laugh. Very much an interactive third Ghostbusters movie. Can't see the problem with the 360 version... if you wanted it badly enough you'd have imported the US version anyway. Got it from America, paid like 65 dollars for it cause I couldnt wait, pretty good game if yer a ghostbusters fan. The multiplayer is ok, but I have finished it a couple of times now. imported the wii version when it first came out. Its brilliant. The ham acting of some of the cast actually fits the style better too.
It definately has the best controls too. aim with the remote. flick the nunchuck for the trap. slamming ghosts around is so much fun when you're actually doing it, I think you can destry more of the environment too as a to get all the unlockables you basically have to destroy every last thing you see to get all the pages in tobins spirit guide.
If you already have got the 360 or PS£ version its definately worthing picking up the wii version too IMO as its different enough to be considered a seperate game in its own right. Considering the reviews that this got I'd say there's probably better games Sony could have spent their money on getting a timed exclusive for.
I thought the same when the rumours suggested MS paid for a timed exclusive on Tony Hawk. |
