Activision has revealed further information on importing Avatars into the 360 version of Guitar Hero 5. Oh and there's a nice video to go with it too.
Here are the words:
"Taking full advantage of the latest technology available from Xbox Live, gamers can choose their band mates and mix and match their Xbox Avatars with Guitar Hero favourites like Judy Nails, Axel Steel and Lars Ümlaüt, or even rip it up alongside in-game talent.
"Xbox Avatars will also get a Guitar Hero makeover in the game's Create-A-Rocker mode, where players can further customize their creations with exclusive Guitar Hero clothing and accessories to ensure they look performance-ready."

Looks alright. I bet you can't take all the clothes out of the game though! Maybe get the "opportunity" to buy stuff you wear in-game for 300 points on avatar marketplace... Otherwise they're just showing up Microsoft's lacklustre range of paid "fashion" choices outside the game by giving better threads away free!
The Monkey Island clothes and props are outstanding, and some of the Halo/ODST/Fable stuff is pretty good. And hey if you're a fan of a game its good to show it, but paying that much for random "fashion" stuff that barely looks any sdifferent from the free choices is a bit of a rip off...
Having tried out the preview Avatar Marketplace I think all (or at the very least MOST) of these clothes should be unlockables from games (as with 'Splosion Man), not purchases. And the ones to purchase should be ****ing good to justify it...
