360 Facebook, Twitter launches "spread out"

MS to give Xbox social apps "breathing space"
Although they're all planned to arrive in the autumn, Microsoft won't be launching Facebook, Twitter and Last.FM channels on Xbox Live at the same time, it says.

Speaking to CVG at a London event this afternoon, an Xbox spokesperson said: "We'll spread them out to a degree, although obviously they're all launching in the autumn.

"We want to try and not put them on top of each other, so each can have its own breathing space."

When they eventually do launch, the new channels will allow 360 owners to post "tweets" on their sofa via Twitter, and upload game screenshots to show friends on Facebook. See them both in action below.

I'm looking forward to these and can imagine them having Live exclusive facebook "groups" to arrange games etc.

Are people really interested in this crap?

Have been living in a cave for the past few years???

What a comment!!

I will agree that it is mostly crap. 90% of the people posting on FB and especially Twitter are just sad lonely losers who post shit like. "I just brushed my teeth" or "Think I'll take a nap". NOBODY GIVES A ****! That's not true actually as people on FB take the time to click the thumbs up button for shit comments like this.

And you know this because clearly you do it too... you complete spank!

Seems to me someone needs some REAL friends.

Uploading game screenshots might be pretty good if they are hi-res and can be done from any game. I'm always looking for new wallpapers for my desktop :D .

Anyone know how the alerts for twitter will appear, I can see it being annoying if you have an active followers list and they appear like achievements. :?

Looks quite interesting. The idea of having a sperate facbook thread to keep gamertag friends sperate from real friends is a good one.

I like the way it has been implemented, too.

Never used Twitter, and can't really see the point of it if I am on facebook.

you say it's sad but u spend time talking on here which is pretty much identical to what your talking about!

Am I the only person to actually Care about LastFM?...
I couldn't give two farts about Twatter or BookFace.
LastFM is an ingenius addition, I've been a subscriber since july2006.
Every song I have ever listened to via pc is tally'd up online, from this social neighbours that ahev similar tasts and intrests are produced....but all this is irrelevant crap.
The Brilliance: it wont matter where i go in the world, all i have to do it log on to my profile and i can listen to everything there...no hard drive, no CD ripping, nothing.
The site sports creative radio: you can cusomise your own radio station to play whatever you want with no adverts and no annoyingly tedius DJ's. The amount of band i have found from listening to LastFM and not listen to daily is uncountable.

I'm forever listening to music and for those out there that do the same this will excite you as much as me...but even if your not into the music as much, this extention is somthing you can't misout on. Even if you havent got a library built up, you could listen to anybody elses on your Friend list.

Never used Facebook, so couldn't give a toss about that, but use twitter alot for news updates and to talk to friends about irrelevant stuff you don't really need to ring/ text/ email them about, plus some BS comments just because you feel like it.

The lastFM feature should be good to, haven't used it long as i got the lastfm app for my ipod a few months ago, but it's functionality through the dashboard should be a welcome addition
