E3: Xbox 360 to land Final Fantasy XIV?

Square Enix considering "all other hardware" options
The days of console exclusives look set to be numbered as Square Enix openly says it's considering other hardware for the title that's so far confirmed for PS3 and PC.

Sony US man Jack Tretton announced that Final Fantasy XIV would release next year only on PS3. But Shinji Hashimoto, Square Enix senior vice president, has cast doubt on Sony's suggestion.

"Some folks interpreted the announcement as being an exclusive, but we wanted to make sure that the announcement was that the game is coming to the PS3 and PC, and in terms of Microsoft products and all other hardware we are considering all options at this time," he said, according to Gamasutra.

Wouldn't surprise me if it ended up on the 360 as well. You can already get Final Fantasy XI for it.

They'd miss out on a whole chunk of cash otherwise. I still don't care though, as either APB or KOTOR will be my first foray into the MMO genre. Bioware have never let me down and APB looks awesome fun.

Im sure Sony said Exclusive at time of release anyway, which already suggested that it wasnt exclusive.

Seems daft for square to develop an online game, only to then leave out the largest ( console) online gaming base, 20 million online users is nothing to scoff out and at the end of the day square is out to make money, not friends.

the age of the timed exclusive is well and truly upon us.

Considering the community on XBL, they'd be silly not to put it on the 360.

Still won't buy it.

Doesnt really bother me, as APB, KOTOR, Star Trek Online will keep me entertained for quite some time.
Dont truly understand Final Fantasy enough to go into an MMO with it.

But it would be rather a daft idea to not put it on the Xbox 360, and utilize a few extra sales in which the Xbox will most certainly give.

Please no!! who actually plays this rubbish??? Final Fantasy is a Ladyboy and Grasshopper game.

Now that's strange, talking of Grasshopper? A news item like this and she is not here with her usual troll comments??

Grasshopper....where are you???

Where is your monkey? Please tell me.

I don't think Square could really ignore the user base of the 360. By the time FFXIV is near release, FFXIII will still be quite fresh in people's minds on the 360, as well as attracting new players to the franchise.

I've never been in to MMO games personally. FFXI didn't interest me at all. But I'll keep an eye on this one, and see what it looks like gameplay and character wise.

Well there goes the best thing at Sony's breifing lol.
Hope it does come to 360 though I have both but prefer using 360 as its friendlier and I feel more connected, plus it has great exclusives.

Ladies and gents, is Final Fantasy XIV the record holder for being the shortest console "exclusive" in history?

Any others out there gunning for the title?

Trust me, Square isn't stupid. I bet they will announce Final Fantasy XIV for the Xbox 360 in no time
