New Final Fantasy XIII details

New characters and their battle techniques revealed
The latest issue of Japanese magazine, Jump, has revealed some new nuggets of info for us Final Fantasy XIII nuts to ponder over.

First up, the mag talks about a character named Hope Estheim - who apparently makes a brief appearance in the playable demo that released in Japan with the Blu-ray version of the animated film Final Fantasy: Advent Children.

Hope, who holds a grudge against other major character, Snow, for getting his mother involved in a big fight (rightly so, too), fights using a boomerang-style weapon. There you go.

Vanille is the other character named - a character who, according to translations of the Jump report, you'll have caught a glimpse of in a couple of trailers (she looks like Rikku, apparently). Vanille's story remains a mystery, but it's reported she'll use a yoyo-style weapon that she swings around ferociously during fights.

The game's set for release in Japan later this year, and overseas next year (we hope).

This is going to be epic in every way....
...an epic wait for the game to come out and a thoroughly epic amount of hours playing through it.

I have to say 1 thing:

Final Fantasy XIII WILL be better than Sex once it comes out lol

Just give Europe Xbox Customers the demo and i'll be happy until release!!

Is this getting released for the Xbox at the same time?

I haven't got a PS3, but would seriously consider getting one for this game (but I'm happy also to wait 2-3 months for the Xbox version, haha)

this is the only reason i havnt sold my PS3, its been sitting idle( havnt switched it on ) since April, if a PC version is ever announced the PS3 is gone

I was really not bothered about this at all, despite it's heritage but something odd happened. As Yahtzee from Zero Punctuation once mooted; the stars must've realligned as I found myself craving some JRPG action. Weird, especially as I've been a big critic of this gen's offerings and their lack of innovations.

Anyway, I found myself buying Lost Oddyssey on a whim and I'm currently really enjoying it despite it's antiquated gameplay. Go figure.....anyway to cut a long story short, I'm now looking forward to Final Fantasy 28

They are meant to be being released at the same time but time will tell.
