Final Fantasy XIII at GamesCom

Square Enix Europe lists Cologne line-up
Square Enix Europe has revealed its line-up for GamesCom in Cologne, Germany next month.

The big names on SEE's roster include Final Fantasy XIII and XIV (which is says will be one of the "main attractions" at the show), a playable version of Supreme Commander 2, Batman: Arkham Asylum, Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, Mini Ninjas and Dissidia Final Fantasy.

GamesCom 2009 will be the first time Square Enix and Eidos have showcased their games together since the Japanese giant acquired the latter earlier this year.

I really hope the combat returns to the turn based method. I miss it in FF games.

If I wanted real time battles I'd buy God of War.

PLEASE SQUARE!!

have you been living in a cave.

Its been widely publsied that FF XIII will have turn based combat. Thank god! XII's combat sucked.

I want to see some more on Dragon Quest IX & X though.

Personally i can't wait for FF-XIV to be fully unveiled. I know its not to alot of people's taste but i loved FF-XI online, but me and my wife joined it to late to really get the most out of it. So joining from the start would be great with XIV. Also i'm looking forwards to many othe S.E games with FF-XIII my fav while the wife wants Kingdom hearts.

FFXIV could really be something special I think. I am looking forward to it more that FFXIII which is looking more and more like FFXII with every reveal. Depending on your opinions that is good/bad.

What we really need unleashed is a Final Fantasy 7 remake to tickle our tastebuds.

Also, more details on Final Fantasy Verses please.

No bloody way. Sorry but i'm bored of hearing i want a FF VII remake. Just because it was the first RPG to make it big outside of japan doesn't mean it needs a remake. That tech demo didn't help the endless rumours either.

The originals still perfectly playable.

Personally i'd rather they remade VI or chrono trigger. They should plunder the back catalogue proper before they start trying to remake early 3d stuff.

Is this a single player game or another online affair? The last FF game I played was FF VIII. IX didn't come to the PC and when FF came back to the PC it was online worlds, I miss the FF series because I'm not a fan of online gaming.

Also, I loved FF VII and if they remade it, I'd buy it!!!

Final Fantasy XIII is an off-line game and Final Fantasy XIV in the new on-line game.

August 19th can't come fast enough. Personally I think that the lineup is looking better than E3's. I also hope for more Versus and Agito lovin', but I am also looking forward to hearing FFXIV details, hopefully including a price plan and details on a combat system, which I hope to god doesn't use the same system EVERY other MMO uses (ie, a skillbar at the bottom with eight buttons to press). Also hoping that you can be a Chocobo Knight.

Thanks, Tmulford.
