FIFA 10 sponsors which footy team?

League 1's Swindon Town. EA splashes the cash...
EA's followed in the lead of Sega (Arsenal) and PES (Lazio) in sticking its name, and that of the world's biggest footy game, on the shirts of a real-life football club. Which club gets the honour? Why it's League 1's Swindon Town.

For the 2009/10 season, Swindon Town FC will proudly display the EA Sports logo alongside 'FIFA 10' on the front of its away kit. It's to share shirt space with footy Mag FourFourTwo, and even have its logo relegated to the back of Swindon's home shirt.

Not that we've got anything against footy teams outside of the top flight, but with Premier League teams carrying such 'big names' as Crown Paints (Blackburn), SBOBET.com (West Ham) and Chang Beer (Everton) you have to imagine EA Sports could've got a better deal.

Perhaps Swindon is Peter Moore's second favourite?

Thanks, FootballShirtCulture.

Why do they release a new FIFA every year? The small changes that they make could be put in through a patch, so how do they justify charging full price for a new game every year? It's just a cash cow now.

Lord you answered own question with that last sentence.

I would have rathered they invested in Wycombe Wanderers FC but what can you do.

Better to have a large slice of a small pie than a small slice of a big one....

EA should be commended for putting some money into a lower league team.

I'm a long time Swindon Town fan and I'm glad that EA have brought a bit of money and publicity our way.
