this smells of BS to me. It does seem like a strange decision, especially as the rating will stay the same. Anyway, after reading IGN's preview I'm gonna give it a miss. Strictly for those who haven't played the 360 version. ill say it again, i dont care bout no gore i just want this damn game allready haha I'm not sure what all this fuss is over the lack of blood. :?
As long as the game has a smooth framerate, better camera angles and more content, then surely that is more important?
And it can't be a graphical shortcoming because the developers have replaced the blood with another graphical effect. That preview was certainly uninspiring. However, it was based on a small segment for each character and not the full game.
I'll reserve judgement until I see how the co-op and other extra modes work out. exactly. people smelling BS are actually just jealous of the many improvements. toning down blood isnt a negative. its not like baddies are immune to bleeding now anyway...
the overkill of blood was for the savage americans. us ps3 owners are more sophisticated :o the same ps3 owners that berate the wii for not having any 'Mature titles'. I own all three consoles so i must be a very mixed up guy. I've already completed NGII on the 360, i don't want to put myself through that level of frustration again. Not sure the PS3 pad could take the beating.
I'm just not a fan of anything being dummed down. Since its not a technical issue why not just give the PS3 more instead of less is all. Makes no difference to me.... My 360 rrod'd when i got to the werewolf level... Pretty easy game compared to black really "dumbed down"
i'd call total over-the-top blood spill dumbed up!
and its getting loads of stuff the 360 version hasn't... hardly dumbed down is it?! - i'd say its the other way around. 'dumbed up'. tell me how that works.
I'm just not a fan of censorship is all.
If it was on the Ps3 first and then ported to the 360 you'd be the first to start yelling from the rafters that it was a stripped down version because it isn't as gory. dumbed up as in cheesy, over the top of what is necessary or half realistic.
only immature people will be awe-inspired at this. its like a cheesy action flick where two cars collide and theres a mushroom cloud explosion.
much rather have the gritty thriller where the car slides across the ground on its roof - what would more likely happen.
blood for the sake of it is childish. mortal kombat style.
nothing is censored. theres still blood. you are ignoring that. if you want gore over substance your an idiot.
there was mountains of blood in the US-aimed 360 version. far too much would detract from the experience, not add. unless your 10. considering the state of your grammer and grasp of the english language i'd think the ten year old in this discussion is you kid.
Have you ever seen a Japanese Ninja/samurai movie. they're all about over the top violent craziness. It's funny and kitch and thats the point.
If you're after grit i strongly suggest you avoid this game because it is the over the top action that makes it enjoyable.
It tends to be the beligerant teenager that wants to appear grown up when he really isn't that shys away from finding pleasure in the ludicrous. where did i say i was buying this?
the first one was good. when i played this one on 360 it was utter shite. then again ps3 is getting an imporved version, but it seemed like a cheesy arcade game in comparison to the first one. massive points splattered up across the screen every time you hit someone. garbage.
it was the over the top action which made it SHITE!
first one oozed class. this does not. no-brain special effects no-substance crap. these two games are like comparing the first two rambo films to each other.
only a lemming would be mesmerised by all this blood flying around and fail to notice that the game itself was GUFF! Hope the framerate will be a lot smoother than Xbox 360 version - It was terrible. The first Ninja Gaiden on xbox is still my favourite all time action game. Whereas the fighting system in 2 is far superior it lacks everything else- it's just a constant fighting game. No puzzles and no interesting level design- it renders Ryu's acrobatics almost pointless.
The enemies are a lot cheaper than before- usually relying on off camera strikes to ebb away at your life (worse so than the original). And on top of that it's got some of the most irritating, frustrating boss battles ever (Especially the one that blows up after you kill it- yeah, you know the one). The game itself is on the whole easier than the original though- for all those wussies out there
Still, it's an ok game- multiplayer may give it that something extra too. In the meantime it's back to (the fairly average) Afro Samurai for me! The reason I've heard that the violence has been toned down is because that will lower the rating in japan. i guess they didn't care with the 360 release because the 5 owners over there prob got the 360 for the rpg's anyways. so lower rating on the ps3=better sales i guess. others say it will improve framerates but i think thts bs.
what I really wanted in this version is the difficulty to be tweaked so tht it resembles the 1st one. NG2 was piss easy when you compare the two and was the biggest disappointment for me in gaming over the past couple of years. anyways a better camera and ayane as a playable character is kind of cool. I never played the first Ninja Gaiden, but loads of people say the second was too easy. It was probably the hardest game I've played this gen.
Some of the boss battles and the arsehole homing missle launching *******s nearly made me put my controller through my patio door. It was very cheap! At least with the first one you always felt in control. I'm having nightmare flashbacks of the snow level with the footprints and the swamp level!
I might get the first one on xbox to play on the 360. the first ones on xbox originals if you've got the space. Or you could always go pick up a second hand copy for much cheaper if you can find it.
Don't think i'ld want to play either again. never has there been such a frustrating series of games ever. Then again they are a lot easier than the original on the NES that was a bloody nightmare. I would dearly love to see what would happen to Grasshopper's tiny mind if CVG one day printed a retraction of an article saying "where we originally said XBLA we meant PSN, and vice versa".
He'd have to utterly reformulate his poorly investigated arguments (which are usually "off the peg" opinions in favour of the PS3 and against the 360 or anyone else who steps on Sony's toes) - "What? I said loads of blood was shit? And you say the PSN one is the bloody one now? Oh, well, yeah... **** me... I like gory games, they're mature... Y'know?" |
