Sigma 2 co-op shots

Ryu, Rachel, Ayane and Momiji get it on inside
TecmoKoei has passed over a batch of new screens for Ninja Gaiden: Sigma 2's recently revealed co-op mode. And we're not talking grubby scans from Famitsu either.

Little is currently known about the co-op mode, but we expect it to play a major part in the game rather than just be a spin off or a few side quests. However there will be a Team Mission mode which we believe could offer upwards of 30 individual missions to tag team your way through.

It's also being tipped (by us) that you'll be able to record your efforts and upload them to PSN for others to watch and rate (or laugh at).

As you'll see the screens feature Ryu, Rachel, Ayane and Momiji all as playable characters. We also reckon there could be a few more in the final game.

Look out for a release later this year and we'd be amazed if there wasn't some kind of fancy collector boxset to celebrate the launch. TecmoKoei is banking on this to be a big hit.

Loads more Ninja Gaiden: Sigma 2 screens, info and HD movies here.

I think I'll pick this up again if these additions are worthwhile. Should be pretty cheap when I get a PS3.

I've not played the 360 version, so I'll defo be picking this one up, especially now that Bayonetta has been pushed to 2010.

Still no blood, still no buy. Hope this title gets a delay before coming to the U.S. to bring it closer to the real Ninja Gaiden 2. I guess Japan and Europe like ported games watered down a bit.

not arsed bout the blood, ng 2 was awicked game, ngs 2 will be loads better

Blood or smoother performance/framerate? Hmmmm....

Smoother framerate -> Blood.

they cut the gore to make sure it had a smooth framerate. The 360 version had buckets of blood and was still silky smooth.

And here i was under the impression that the ps3 was the more powerful of the two consoles. pfftt.

Think i'll be keeping the 360 version. Not sure a ps3 pad could take the amount of bumps my 360 one did playing this game.

they cut the blood down so it wouldnt be banned in germany.

theres still blood i think, just not stupid amounts of it.

Sounds about right. It was even toned down on the 360 as it was heading for an Adults Only rating in the States.

Sigma 2's been toned down by Yosuke Hayashi who's the director on it. got this from wiki

i'm sure the game could stand up on its own feet without the gore if they sort out the camera issues from the 360 version. the gameplay is still there in abundance and hopefully the new characters add to that with different playing styles.

I'm liking the sound of co-op, mainly because I was sh*t on my own on the 360 version. :D

I don't think co-op is for campaign mode though, just those mission rooms where you have to defeat wave after wave of enemies.

But like ensabahnur said, they have to make sure these additional characters have an interesting move set to differ from playing as Ryu. I'm not buying this to look at Rachael's chest. Honest 8)

Yeah sure they did :P Games get banned in germany for a lot less than excessive gore.

If the original was banned in germany this will too.

No, this is getting a release in Germany for sure. Can't wait for this to come out. Screw Bayonetta.

was playing it on the 360 last week noticed it lagged a it during some fights, and of course the bit on the long stairs had ultra lag, hope thats fixed

Ah I see, it's a shame really because if they sorted out the camera I think co-op could really suit the main campaign, still could be interesting though, I presume the extra characters are just for the co-op parts then and can't be selected for the main campaign?.

And don't worry, I believe you about Rachel, (even though many wouldn't) .

So...an extra player is easier to handle than some more gore? Yeah, you fail(XBUTT?). Also, There's more to a console's power than GPU power...
