From an underground market in the Philippine's could be fake. Who knows what goes on in underground markets these days. It was almost like it was too dodgy to be fake.
It certainly looked like the same product advertised in those pictures.
I just don't know what to think. It's more than likely it's fake, but, I'm not going to blame anyone if they think otherwise. It better be fake because if it's true then it looks like the new PS3 fell out of the ugly tree and hit several branches on the way down. To be honest, you could probably buy anything in the Philippine's. Did you see the cheap fake "Rolls Royce" on Top Gear last night. That cheaply made outer casing could contain anything: a PS2, a snes, a toaster! I wonder what it would look like if you took a PS2, put the innards in a cheap plastic case you made to look like the 'PS3 slim', then filmed it with a dodgy camophone with the intent of not showing enough details for people to know what it actually was so you could get a few numpties to pay over the odds for it.
Oh no, hold on, IT WOULD LOOK EXACTLY LIKE THAT.
Jon Its so obviously fake I wanna poke my own eye out rather than look at it. The words he was using just screamed "CON!" The fact that the logo on the front said PS3 in the Ps2 style writing, instead of the spiderman font "Playstation 3" says it all. Obviously not a true product. Why even have a slim PS3? Surely the biggest factor in the slimming down is an external PSU but tbh I'd rather just have a chunkier machine with the psu built into it. Despite it being bigger it still looks nicer under the tv in the living room. Haha I saw that. That was a classic moment! In fact last night's showing of the Evo vs the British Army was even more splendid! Personally I really wouldn't be surprised if this was real... Why does everybody seem so interested in a slim PS3?
I want the PS3 lardy-arse. It'd come with a 1tb hard drive, a 7 disc multi-change bluray drive, a lager barrel/tap and a jellybean dispenser. The Playstation 3 looks gorgeous as it is. Why mess up the design. I don't think its real. Sony would show it to the public in a big press confrence kinda thing not some shanty ally store. I somewhat agree with kimoak I like the design as it is although I wish it wouldn't attract so much dust. I dust it down twice a day I think I clean the xbox once a month if that (nothing to do with more love just doesn't show so much on the elite) Who cares it is a smaller PS3 wow!! i agree with kimoak. the ps3 is a stunning looking piece of hardware. much nicer than the other consoles. i'm very happy with my fat ps3. couldnt he hold the camera still?!
dont think it screams fake. though it may be. I'm going to go with my gut instinct on this just as I did upon reading the initial rumors of the PS3 "slim" which many people laughed at. A few months later that gut feeling appears to be vindicated. This could be a fake bootleg copy but from the admittedly poor and blurry video quality I think it may just be genuine. Perhaps a late-stage prototype or a unit from one of the first batches of the final design? Bear in mind that there is a persitent rumor that Sony already has the PS3 "slim" ready but is waiting for the PS3 "chubby" inventory to clear out first before releasing it. i reckon you're on the money there. everyone knows the slim version is coming, just a matter of when I don't think it's necessarily the size of the console generating such an interest,I think it's the price cut that would surely come with the slim ps3 that people are caring about. aye and just full of cinnamon jellybeans. and Stella for the tap. and they get re-filled through the broadband. that's a guaranteed seller. Show me some games running on it please. Aren't you an estate agents? Pretty much like the normal one then... and the PS2... a collection of mismatched boxes glued together was hardly an object of beauty. hey it could have been worse, remember the US SNES. that was one ugly mo-fo Oh come on! How the hell could Gametrailers fall for this?!! Look, why would sony waste millions in cash to develop a slim version of the PS3, when the original PS3 has yet to breakeven? fool.
the slim has been contracted out already.
it wouldnt take millions to develop.
and it would cut production cuts - helping them to break even. Yes he is! Amazing name. Yeah but when the slim is released, it will be more expensive than the current version. looking at my ps3 and xbox360 elite side by side size wise there isn't much in it considering the siz of the block at the back of my tv for the psu. And the ps3 is easily the more attractive machine... and quietest.... and most used for me at least. What rubbish. The PS2 slim at least looked pretty similar to the original brick PS2. I highly doubt this is real, probably just a crappy Asian fake console. Lots of people are saying it's real, but I'm not one of them. »
That's my expectation. I wouldn't mind Sony surprising me on this occassion. If there's one country you wouldn't trust in terms of new hardware, it's China! Faker than Pamela Anderson. »
Or the Nintendo 64... looking like what Fischer Price would have made had they ever released a games console. I saw something in a mag (I think it was Play) that was guessing that it was a PolyStation (a fake machine that usually only plays 8-bit games) that had been styled to look like a slim PS3.
Or it's just a wind-up. Sony couldn't possibly release something that ugly. Interesting. From what I've seen of the PS3 "slim" so far, it doesn't strike me as ugly. I think I'd rather have the "slim" in my living room than the current bloated beast though that would in large part be determined by final specs and pricing. |
