Smart move by SE all in all. Not bad for a company that was about to go bust when it realeased FF1.

Shame there's been no good Eidos games since the Tomb Raiders on the PS1. Now it's far from a 'hit' franchise, it's just shovelware.

Uhuh..
So Deus Ex wasnt one of the best games of that generation,
Soul Reaver was crap?
Hitman...man that was just awful.

Yep..Tomb Raider, a very boring game, was definitely that last best game they did..geeze.

I just hope this means SE stuff gets localized faster..
If only Atlus had more stuff in the EU that would be awesome.

Sorry, there was a typo. It was driving me nuts. Oh, and don't forget the Thief franchise... those were awful as well Rolling Eyes

Joking aside, I am a big fan of several of these Eidos titles. Deus Ex, Hit man, and Thief. And at the same time, I really hate Square Enix and the games they make. I kind of hate the fact that I may be funding their godawful Jrpg's in the future. Sad

OK, so you hate an entire publisher because you hate JRPGs- fair enough, if you don't like the genre, you don't like it. But, Eidos hasn't been very financially sound for quite a while and this move is going to be a big benefit for both companies. I'm sure you'll be able to get over the fact that they'll be releasing successful JRPGs that will help fund some of the other franchises that you DO like. I'm sure you'll manage.

And all SE make are JRPG's... so before they were less than completely useless to me. But you bring up an interesting point in how it can work both ways.
