Seeing is believing Remember those 720p Super Mario Galaxy screenshots from yesterday? Of course you do. Well here's some proper footage of the Wii stunner running in hi-definition (note: remember to turn your sound off).... read more
After watching this, I really want an upscaler for the Wii. I dont want replace my existing Wii yet because I dont think it would be worth it. However a additional hd upsaler add-on is something I would pick up almost instantly.

If you plug your Wii into a HDTV, it's already being upscaled. End of story.
This video isn't the result of upscaling - the game's 3D geometry is being rendered at a higher resolution from the outset. THAT is what's resulting in a sharper image.
Please, please, please people. Understand that "upscaling" is not the same and won't give you the same results as increasing the native resolution.
And is nintendo released a HD wii people would still bitch about just the same as they do now so what would be the point. _________________ Watch your step, the red mists of Richyrage are descending mwahahaha
To be honest I cant see much of a difference. Mario Galaxy is already a good looking game and when I play it on my TV with the component cables it looks fantastic and just like this video. The pictures that were shown before looked different when compared to the original but if that is what it takes to see these marginal differences then im happy with what I have at the moment.
It has to be said that the Wii can output some gorgeous visuals, even in SD. It's a far more capable machine than people (or, sadly, developers) tend to give it credit for.
