When a 360/ps3 game comes out and looks nice, you think, "oh, that looks nice", but because of the horsepower under the hood, you almost expect that kind of goodness, and it doesn't seem as special.
Anyway, I thought SMG looked stunning in the first place. Cue the Standard Def Defense Force and their usual ********. CVG SORT YA DAMN VIDEOS OUT!!!
EVERYTIME I PRESS PLAY, IT BUFFERS THEN DOESNT PLAY!! :x
IT AINT MY PC AS I EVERY OTHE VIDEO WORKS!!! SORT IT!!
Yea Mario Galaxy looked like a next gen console to me, so it dont really matter. Plus Nintendo made games knows how to get the best out the wii  I would love form Nintendo to make a HD Wii, I even made a thread about it on these forums. Yeah CVG is famous for crap video player!
Just hit pause then play again. shyt player erm... those screenshots are 1024 × 768 not 720p. The what? I think he's talking about the people who support SD over HD, haven't seen many of those lately. that made me lol It was a lovely looking game in the first place.
But those screenshots are niiiiice. Has there ever been any? ..is there no way Nintendo could produce some kind of HD add on??...i would buy it but others who were happy with SD would leave it alone....most people have a larger screen than a few years ago and 480p on 46" 1080p screen can look a bit rubbish...... So it isnt just me then whos having problems with the player cos i was starting to get annoyed with my browser The only thing they could do is release an upscaler add-on. HD games require higher resolution graphical assets to be made so you would need new games for the new hd-version and the whole point they went SD in the first place was to make the hardware affordable and the game development cheaper. I imagine if they are going HD they will wait until their next console. PS2 games look great upscalled to 1080p also SMG looks stunning as it is, but those screenshots are out of this world, sorry about the pun. we all know wii hd is coming, so graphic bashing won't be much of a problem anymore if it pumps out visuals like this. beat me to it. also wrong AR. Surely the big block to going HD and 720p is no-where near enough texture memory. These screens look class. I hope that Nintendo does make some HD add on but I don't think they will because im not sure if an HD add on would work? I dunno. Basically what I am saying is can somthing be an add on to a games console that would make it HD? Ive never seen anything like that before. Also I don't think Nintendo would make new consoles with HD added in just for the sake of it as I would cost them a lot of money and I wouldn't buy it because I already spent £180 on my Wii. Exactly, plus Nintendo have already stated on more than one occassion than they have no interest in making a HD Wii, and their next console will obviously be in HD. I dont think they need bother making a Wii HD. The Wii target market probably couldnt give a toss about HD gaming, its generally for the hardcore anyways. I dont think it would sell enough compared to the standard Wii to justify the production. HD or not Wii games look toss for the most part compared to the other machines. The composite lead you can buy gives you a decent picture on a HD tv, i was happy with that when i had my white box of love Not to mention that they would have to release two versions of every game! Really? Well even more so then, Wii HD would likely be an epic disaster WHO CARES ITS THE SAME GAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHO CARES? ITS THE SAME GAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHO CARES? ITS THE SAME GAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You mean component, surely? Composite doesn't even give you a decent picture on an old CRT, never mind an HDTV. The difference is night and day but still upscaling does not an HD image make.
On a completely different note, I've got half a mind to avoid this thread completely lest I get into another retarded argument with someone who can't even fathom the difference between an upscaled image and an increased native resolution. It's nice, but how much of a difference are we actually talking here, since the quality of the graphics relates to texture size and polycounts more than resolution.
Mario isn't suddenly going to jump to 150,000 triangles at 720p if he was only 20,000 at 480p. And as a counter to the intended effect, lower res textures scaled up will look blocky as hell - and that's about the only place upscaling might help out.
I can't decide whether Ninty are likely to release an HD Wii. I know the customers want it, but they also wanted a hard drive and were told in no uncertain terms that they weren't getting one. Until the rest of the hardware can match up to it, there's not much point upping the graphics by themselves. Yeah component wrong word. And you have basically proved another point of mine. Most Wii owners won't know what the **** all that stuff you are talking about means, nor will they care. FIX YOUR VIDEO PLAYER CVG!! People need to get some perspective here.
Those screens and the video look pretty much exactly the same as when I play my version on an SD set. If you play an SD Wii game on a HD system you are asking for trouble. The emulation would look like utter crap if it didn't use tons of anti-aliasing and texture filtering.
What gamers should be asking for is games that aren't shader-less PS2 levels of junk and actually use what the Wii has to offer. Just look at effects laden Gamecube games like Starfox Adventures, Rogue Squadron and Twilight Princess, we should be getting those games x 3. |
