I tried to play it on 3 different occasions, all failing within 10 minutes because it was unbearably shit. The first one didn't look too bad, it was the gameplay that was at fault.
It was just incredibly 'clunky' to play, and the controls didn't work well either,...ok it was just awful, my biggest gripe was that you couldn't play first person, which i prefer for games of this type. ^
Agreed. I actually got about 10 hours out of it, but it was just too unbearably shite. *could* have been a great game but just completely failed in every single aspect of its execution. Can't wait.
I love the first one. I managed to contain my rage for 20 minutes before uninstalling the original and gently chucking it in a drawer, where it stays to this day. I couldn't bring myself to trade it knowing that someone else might make the mistake of buying it. It's weird, this game was supposed to be the plops, but sold quite well. Can anyone confirm whether or not the first game is indeed "the plops?" I loved the first one I would put it up there with Ultima 7 as one of the best I ever played.
I will definitely be pre-ordering the second one. I played the demo for about 5 minutes before the appalling framerate became unbearable and the combat got boring. Uninstalled and wisely never touched again.
Beggars belief that a game so universally panned would get a sequel, but then again I guess they can't really do any worse second time around, right? Weeeell, despite the closing remarks of CVG in the article essentially expressing the same sentiment, one could argue that if the metacritic score was 5/10 then it can't only improve. It could still sink to lower depths. Let's hope not though; the three pics look very pretty graphics wise and it would be nice to have decent game mechanis and a well written plot to go along with it. Well in theory, yes. But surely it's unlikely that the developer could move backwards. They must learn from the stuff reviews say, right?
Surely. They must do. Me and my brother certainly are divided over this game. He LOVES it, completed it fully, 100% completion etc. I personally couldnt get past the horriable frame rate; while i found the world and features fairly interesting, the frame rate ruined it for me.
Long as the frame rate is better, then i could stick with the next game. How the hell does a game as sh*te as Two Worlds get a sequel? It's probably the worst game I have ever played! lol all i can remember from that game was the name 'Gandohar'= lol and an over use of 'forsooth!!!' I enjoyed the first game :? There was not a single saving grace to the first, this had better be at least 1 million times more polished and refined over the first. The first reminded me of the sort of thing students at these game programming camps might churn out at the end of year exam/test. Have to admit that I'm really looking forward to this. The first one caught me by surprise  - yes it's not a patch on Oblivion etc, but get past the dreadful VO and it really isn't all that bad. Mind you I did get it after alot of patches were released. Two Worlds was pretty dire when it first came out, but it actually got progressively better with each patch. With the very latest patch installed, it's not a bad game at all. |
