Quake Arena XBLA: 1 screenshot

The Arcade game set to make us ANGRY
Here's the first screenshot for Quake Arena Arcade, the XBLA version of Quake III's that's set to make us SMASH our controllers in ANGER.

There's not much to get excited about in this image, just a map screen showing very few arenas carried over from the PC original.

40 maps are set to be included in the game however, with support for up to 16 players and a dozen different game modes.

There's no release date, but the developer's "just uploaded a new build to Microsoft, id and QA," according to the game's Twitter.

I might pick it up depending on the price, but it's free to play online via quake live now, so it better be cheap.

Although both games were/are excellent.

It'll be like quake 3 on the dreamcast all over again. I can't wait.

Not many classic maps listed in that screenie. What's that about?
Posted by matthew_m_g
That's only a fraction of the maps they're going to have available in the game. They said over 40 maps will be brought over, and I'm sure that if the game takes off there will be additional map packs...

...so I wouldn't worry about the classic maps not making the cut. Plenty of space for them to be in there. :)
