Nintendo teams with Five for new game show

'Five' the TV channel, not the band
Nintendo has teamed up with Five for a new game show called Britain's Best Brain, which will begin airing from October.

The new quiz show will test contestants mentally and physically with a series of unique challenges as they compete in five tasks which have been scientifically created to test a specific function governed by a different part of the brain - memory, co-ordination, numeracy, recognition and risk.

Interestingly, the search for contestants starts this month, with Nintendo and Five using Wii and DS games such as Dr Kawashima's Brain Training: How Old is your Brain?, Wii Fit and Big Brain Academy to test potential participants.

You won't actually play Nintendo games on the show itself though. Soz.

The Britain's Best Brain road show will be appearing in the following locations:

  • CastleCourt Shopping Centre, Belfast: 4th & 5th July
  • Metro Centre, Newcastle: 11th & 12th July
  • Braehead Shopping Centre, Glasgow: 18th & 19th July
  • Arndale Centre, Manchester: 25th & 26th July
  • Westfield's Shopping Centre, London: 1st & 2nd August
  • Queen Street, Cardiff: 8th & 9th August
  • The Bullring, Birmingham: 15th & 16th August

Focus Nintendo, games!!!

If I was being pedantic I'd point out that the Metro Centre is technically in Gateshead, not Newcastle.

Hmm, smells like a modern equivalent to the eighties movie: The Wizard, only with daytime television advertising this time.

Could be interesting to see how Ninty go about doing it, though. :)

Five! There are better TV channels they could have worked with surely.

Heh. There are better TV channels, definitely, but maybe none that would air this :)

It's hardly a BBC product, is it?
