As long as Zelda gets kidnapped and you save her (and she still doesn't put out) then it's a Zelda game. Yeah.. I wasn't too fussed with the sound of that patent. 1:1 swordplay! As WheresMyMonkey has stated elsewhere, it would be nice to see the 1:1 Motion Plus controls from Wii Sports Resort implemented in a new Zelda title - such as the archery, the sword fighting, throwing your boomerang... heck, maybe even a bit of canoeing!
I think the addition of the Motion Plus along with true Wii visuals would keep any Zelda fan happy!
I’d also like to finally have the option of voice acting, with the option of turning it off for those purists who prefer to read endless text. We should at least be offered the option though. LAME. If there was one game, with a teensy wiinsey bit of allure for me to convert back to Nintendo then it would be Zelda. But it seems like its not going to happen. I remember the renders they produced back in the Cube days of Link battling Gandondorf. That really excited me, but it never came to anything. Oh well. we can live in hope I didn't think about the canoeing but it would make sense. If they work as well in zelda as it does in wiisports resort i think this next zelda is possibly going to be even better than ocarina of time. So long as they get the story right.
I too agree that having voice acting in Zelda would be great, although its unlikely to happen as Nintendo have stated in the past they don't do voice acting to help speed up localisation (apparently)
Then again other m looks like its going to have full cinematics so i don't see why zelda shouldn't follow suit.
I think miayamotos comments were more to try and stop fans fearing that the next zelda was going to be a purely casual affair. Which i'm happy it isn't. that doesn't mean that the quest structure and the like isn't going to get loked at. I second that! The swordplay and Bow was one of the first things I thought about implementing properly with WM+ I totally forgot about the canoeing. That would be excellent. Lets see.. Fishing, more accurate boomerang throwing, That big ball and chain swinging. Rolling the bombs along the floor/throwing them.. those are a some of the things I can think of off the top of my head anyway. NOT radically different? Well, make up your mind... Nintendo: "We're going to do things a little differently with the next Zelda."
Masses: "What! How could you?"
Nintendo: "Oh... ok... We won't change it that much then."
Masses: "Pah... who wants go through the same old ideas again anyway, we want change."
Nintendo: "Sigh." I bet you still play a guy who does something he's not supposed to, gets sent away from his home town to stumble across a magic sword, then a bow and arrows, a boomerang and a grappling hook that you will then be required to use only to reach and then defeat that dungeon's boss.
I bet you'll have your way blocked by some old man/old woman/orphan who needs your help with something trivial but will have a gift for you that somehow gets you into a whole heap of trouble.
I bet you'll fight a boss that you think you've defeated, only for him to run off and hide in a magical fortress/castle/underground lair until you can unlock the door using a collection of three/five/seven seals. well done for realising zelda games have a formula Nintendo: "We're going to do things a little differently with the next Zelda."

lol, how true. People are never happy. Not fussed about the 1:1 gameplay, I am more interested in new and never before done puzzles in dungions, a storyline that's to die for and loads of sub plots and overworld secrets to find about the old Hyrule and stuff, If Zelda is kiddnapped in the next Zelda game I will be really pissed off! I have always adored Zelda, it was that and Metroid that made me buy a Wii. TP was a top quality game on the Wii, and this one sould be even better with 1:1 swordfighting. Perhaps it can finally knock Ocarina off the Zelda top spot (Orcarina is my second favorite game of all time after Final Fantasy VII). What a fail! After playing at least ten pretty much identical games I was really hoping for some sort of shake-up in the old gameplay or story departments. I could just about bear Twilight Princess, but I gave up on Phantom Hourglass halfway through because I've just been there before. I would like them to start tying all the stories together now, rather than just relying on some secret timeline Nintendo supposedly have at their HQ. I really enjoyed Wind-Waker because of the way it tied to Ocarina of Time and shook things up.
Why can't Link have the Triforce of Power for a change, Zelda the Triforce of Courage and Ganon the Triforce of Wisdom? Why does history keep having to repeat itself over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over...
...and over and over and over and over. Boring now! :-( CVG took my line!!! Well what Miyamoto said is no surprise, Nintendo have been recycling their franchises for years.... I also enjoyed Wind Waker. They tried something a little different... and people moaned about it... gits! |
