Its not like the Chinese state to let to rather incidental ethics get in the way of hundreds of millions of dollars. Are Blizzard more powerful than than China now? Maybe they threatened to cancel Wen Jiabao's WoW subscription. *double post* I never bought my gold, was too scared of being screwed over by the Chinese  finally no more damn gold adds clogging up trade chat :) woot They should try clamping down on bootleg fake goods aswell Shame that, why ban it? Who does it harm? :? Well for one it makes the efforts of the serious players worth less. I mean I've never bought gold, I've worked for every single piece of gold, silver and copper that it took to buy my mounts and get my gear on WoW, but with gold selling you get these noobs running around with a load of great stuff just because they have the real life cash to buy gold and the laziness to not bother working for it ingame. Taxing the actual personal income from gold mining in MMOs might make it more palatable for the Chinese government (and others). Not that I exactly relish the thought of ever more taxes being created. |
