Also Jolie has another point. She shouldn't really be reprised of a role she helped to create. Any chance of a British lass playing Lara Croft? You know, like they use a British man to play James Bond.

The Sun is everything that is wrong with this bloody country. But in some people's defence, I did used to read it until I was about 19 or 20. You may, given time, grow out of it and see it for the dangerous, sensationlist, agenda setting waste of a tree that it is. Although, all the newspapers annoy me - thank god for the bbc website.

the sun raised more for troops at war than any other peice of shit tabloid. the tone in the sun is FAR more professional than the rest of them, (star, mirror all that trash) they like a laugh and are a bit raunchier than the daily record. nothing wrong with that.
you can easily skip the garbage about celebs and theres all the actual news stories and interesting stuff as well. She can't be that insecure. I heard her once in an interview say "I'm clearly not ugly". So maybe she's saying those other things for attention. "What? A man? Nooo, you're beautiful, Megan". Unfortunately some people are unable to work out what is bull and believe what they read, that's why I can't stand them. And the other papers are no better, they just approach it from a different angle.
People shouldn't have to work this stuff out, if it's not true - don't print it! Or if it's speculation/opinion, make sure people know that's what it is. The amount of stories newspapers have when they quote a politician or celebrity's 'friend' is a joke.
I just have a particular problem with Murdoch, with how much influence he has on a country he doesn't even come from. But mainly Fox news.

The fact The Sun attracts readers who've apparently never heard of capital letters pretty much says it all (hint: when starting a sentence or typing a noun, hold down the SHIFT key for the first letter). I dont want either in a new Tomb Raider film. As nice as they are I'd prefer it if they got an English actress who is beautiful and doesnt have to fake an English accent. As much as I like Summer Glau, she'd just be totally wrong as Lara Croft. lol. megan fox plays the 'younger' lara croft. maybe jolie's more miffed cos of the age thing. now when are we going to see a lara croft in hot pants?! I agree with the 'get a British actress' opinion. But the simple truth is all that matters in the American movie industry is that it makes loads of money and opens the doors for more sequels. Replacing Jolie with a new, younger actress makes sense, in business terms. As with Bond, Batman, etc, it gives the film makers a chance to distance themselves from the past and try a slightly different direction; revamped and repackaged. If this Fox actress gets the role within two or three movies she'll also end up being replaced by a younger actress, and so the formula continues. Although this story is reported in The Sun and may not be true, the fact remains Angelina Jolie only has a lease on the character and was always going to be replaced as enough money was made to warrant sequels. What Tomb Raider needs more than anything is a decent script writer and director, or better still, just to disappear completely! if there is a god (or any sense of justice) then these 2 chicks will battle it out by mud wrestling.

As for the Sun, it's one of those 'read it if its there' things. The butchering they do on certain quotes should be illegal (check out Parkys comments on Jade Goody in the Sun and then compare them to the actual interview in the Radio Times-shocking), and they're obsessed with 'campaigns'. If its not sack Russell Brand, its make Paedos into sex offender sandwiches or paint every member of the armed forces gold and place them on a diamond pedestal.
Charlie Brooker got it right on Newswipe when he basically said that due to the internet newspapers are as defunct as VHS tapes, and are desperately scrabbling for anything that sells them, true/classy or not. The last ever Sun will have Emma Watsons sixteen year old daughter getting out of a cab, while a seedy camera man practically rapes her with a camera lens under her skirt. @MIlky_Joe I can understand your concens with casting Summer Glau as Lara but Joss Whedon said in the commentary of "Waiting in the Wings" that she can do a perfect English (and Russian) accent Megan Fox is way better looking than Angelina :P Megan Fox (aka Jolie deadbringer) denied having received any invitation for a tomb raider role.

Ford is a great actor, but he's also a bit old. Besides, Angie is super-wealthy, so who gives a crap? I still thing her best performance was in "Girl.. Interrupted." All downhill from there. This is Megan Fox's foot in the door. She could go on to be Croft, and them maybe land some other good roles, or just be known as the girl from those damn sexy Transformers live action films. Megan Fox is tidy as fu*k but her boobs just arn't big enough for that tomb raider carry on.
I hope this story is a load of rubbish I saw her in "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" yesterday, her acting has definitely improved and she's also even better looking. :D |
