Dare I say that it could actually be the best game material for a film? Hell, even the games cutscenes were better than most of hollywoods tripe of late.

If the director of IronMan is on board, then I am pretty hopeful.

and a Mad Mad Mad to your avatar. mon the gers.
as for a Uncharted film, why not. the material is solid and if done correctly it could be this generations Indiana Jones, only funnier. just don't let Lucas or Spielberg near it. they raped Indy.

Thing is, the pacing of the game was really good, the script was solid and the characters interesting. It would need to be transferred across more or less as-is with only the walking around parts cut to stay true.

I can think of a few scenes that would work well on the big screen, and I've only played it through once. I could play Drake, we have the same hair, cheeky comments and everything Smile

Dont worry, we'll see if that kind of Avatar is still showing when they are humbled out of the CL qualifiers in a few weeks time.

You can't simulate the 6 or so hour experience of 'interactive' enterainment into a 2 hour 'passive' experience and still get the same enjoyment. It's just like how the book is always better than the film. Am I making sense?

This is just another train wreck in waiting! Confused

I'm gonna reserve judgement on this one. Nolan North is Nathan Drake. If he isn't involved in this at all then I doubt they'll capture Nathan's charm. No matter how stupid it sounds I think the voice actors should play the parts in the film. They look moderately like their counterparts and they do all the motion capture work. We already know how well they work together. Unlikely to happen, but I can always hope...

that probably is about the best fit. his mannerisms are similar as well. could be a good Nate.
hows about William Hurt for Sully. look at him in the last hulk movie, stick a few pounds on and a cigar and there you go.

Well, could be decent, but it has a few things going against it...
One being that even in the gaming world, it's like a poor mans mix between Indiana Jones and Tomb Raider.
We already have films of both. Tomb Raider managed to stall afloat due to the babe factor, but unless this film gives itself a unique selling point, it'll just get lost.

well the 2 National Treasure films are quite similar are they not, and they've managed to do not too bad. haven't seen either of them but i've heard only good things.

and going by the gaming world i'd say Indiana Jones and Tomb Raider are the poor mans option. Uncharted shat over the 2 of them imo.
Movie wise nothings ever gonna touch the original Indy trilogy, they will always be classics. Tomb Raider movie's sucked though, the only redeeming feature is Jolie's tight body.

hmm...not sure about this. Will it really be as fun to watch as it was to play?

on the optimistic side, i hope they include a black-and-white screen effect for whenever nate gets shot and a montage of finding all the treasure in the game for the platinum...

Yep, that would work, that just leaves Elena, the blonde girl from lost?(not Claire but the girl who was killed of in the first few series).

Think you're a bit mixed up there. Uncharted dumps all over the last few Tomb Raider games from a great height. By far the superior game.

This game is made for a big screen adaptation! The main character is one of the best game heros ever made! Loved the cut scenes in U1 but frankly I'm not very optimistic. There's something about game to movie conversions that make good directors/writers/actors become poo. Here's hoping!

So presumably they'll just rip the script straight off other films the same way the game rips all it's ideas of other titles.
