For all we know it could have a Lada Riva engine under the bonnet. I'd take it, but I want it in a different colour. Black would be good, it'd be just like the Batmobile :)
@Speciala: It uses a fuel cell powered by 4 motors, apparently puts out 780hp and weighs around 1400kg. Plus the usual new stuff like regenerative braking. I want one too. Bloody beautiful car.
And what's this about GT5 being expected late next year?
I'm expecting it late this year!
Do you know something that I don't, eh CVG?
Come on, I can take it.
  I thought it was expected early next year???, surely it's not nearly a year and a half away still? beautiful car, i love driving it in gt5p its the fastest car in the game out does the F1, it sounds like a space ship starting to blast off wen you accelerate haha don't listen to that - an attempt by CVG to drum up sales for that 360 racing game Forza motors 3
the punters would think: "oh the ultimate racing game is not out until late 2010, I may as well pop down to blockbusters and pick up Forza Milan instead"
anyway I read an interviwe where an erudite Jap said "we can release game anytime" so that is good enough for me and no doubt any serious fan Looks like a squashed maserati to me, not my cup of tea at all. Wonder what the police were talking to the driver about, congestion charge maybe  Nah. Using his/her mobile with the engine still running! looks like the pretentious shitty audi R8. hate they cars. »
Right, I'll ignore what anyone from cvg says and just listen to you from now on because you obviously know what you're talking about  Although I do remember reading that article where they said that they could release it anytime they wanted. Just one question then Polyphony....Why the hell won't you release the damn game??? Wow, I love that car. Have you driven it? Who gives a sh*t about this, the game will be out in about 3 years time. I'd take that old Ford pickup in the background of the cop pic anyday. :P The R8 is a strange beast. Sometimes I think it looks stunning, other times I think it looks hideous. There's one drives round here sometimes and that's really nice.
I think it depends on the colour of the carbon section behind the doors. in gt5 prolouge the GTbycitroen has the fuel cell engine, but that real life car is running a petrol v8 putting out 500-600 bhp. as far as i Know anyway I could be wrong on this. Also such a powerfull fuel cell engine dosent really exist at this moment in time, and if it does citroen arn't gonna let it loose on the goodwood hill!!! havent driven it, wouldnt want to. its gut-sickeningly user-friendly (opposite of a drivers car) and the looks  minging. rips off a veyron with its two-tone body, except looks worse. and the veyron is hideous to begin with.
would rather have an RS4 any day of the week.
R8's are for business men who think they're being naughty. THAT CAR LOOKS POO I MUCH PREFER OUR HAPPY WAGON WITH ITS TASTY WINDOWS. IT TASTES LIKE A DUCKYS KNEE. For the record, the only information ANYONE has on a release date, is what Amar at GTPlanet said. Between Early december 2009, and Late March 2010. Period. If CVG is claiming otherwise, they're wrong, lying, or not revealing a source as trusted as Amar, in which case, Amar is still the most viable source of information.
Also, it was Kazunori Yamauchi who stated that GT5 could be released at any time. This is common sense, since GT Mobile is finished (They'd stated GT Mobile would be shelved until GT5 was ready). So, do not listen to people who claim they know what's going on in the industry, without them providing a source.
For current GT related information though, GTPlanet, and the Playstation Gran Turismo forums, are the best.
Morne i helped out in the launch of it, well the new V10 version. had a day filming with it. very nice indeed, however it does feel a little plasticy at times. when you turn it on the engine revs up which sounds incredible and the dials spin around to max and back down again. it's a little touch but very cool. it'll set you back Ł100K though. the version i was working with was red with black/grey carbon. that little touch with the dials has been available in scoobys for a while. fake system check thing. i find it retarded.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MefNAX2gGyo yeah? i didn't know that. i thought it was cool. (just checked the vid link, the difference is that with the audi the engine revs alongside the dials, not just the dials, which does make it better imo)
i'm sure scoobys are great cars but in terms of styling i think they're total chav. i much prefer european cars, just my personal preferance.
as for the veyron, well it's a VW Group car, and tech can be passed around within the group hence any similarity you think they share. well that's my guess anyway. Just to let you guys know, they are refering to the recently rumoured date of October THIS YEAR, not next year.
Here's a link to an article on it:
http://www.thesixthaxis.com/2009/06/19/gran-turismo-5-gets-uk-release-date/ Real shame about that badge on the front. Beautiful car otherwise. depends if you get gold wheels and the high rise park bench spoiler. then they are chavvy, exceptionally.
i have silver wheels and a low lip spoiler. and colour is white (japan only)
doesnt look chavved like that.
and i'd doubt you'd want your car to rev at you everytime you turned the key. novelty would wear off after a few times. especially if you were going to work in it early morning.
i had a seat cupra and it was full of audi parts. VW own them too. the intake pipe had the four rings stamped on it. Be that as it may, nor Sony, a PD Spokesman, or Amar, has indicated anything but late Dec 2009 to early March 2010. People have been waiting for this game long enough, starting or otherwise encouraging unsubstantiated rumor, merely creates disappointment when/if such rumors turn out to be false. It would be wise for folks to remember such things, when writing articles.
Morne Thats cool looks like a cross between an R8 and a Veyron with a few bits of the Mazda Furai stuck on it for good measure.
Also @ Grasshopper, R8's for business men who think they are being naughty?
They are being naughty you fool, there are like 3 up my road, they drive up and down at about 90mph on a none too big road out of a town. Dangerous and stupid on this road, but crackin to watch. Just import cars from japan there all from companys like veilside nismo and a load more and dirt cheap and look way better than that shiiiiuiiiiiiumttycitreon If you take a corner too fast and slam into a building or a fence do you just bounce off with absolutely no damage to car or perforamce like you do in the game? @ Suivatam109PS3 - Information on exactly how fully integrated the damage model is, in GT5, is as yet unclear. We do know there is one, but we've not gotten much more than the trailer from E3, and a few words from Kaz.
