So, is it just me, or is Tekken looking 10 years old already? I'm not seeing anything worthy of the "First time on Xbox" monica. Put Street Fighter IV next to this and it's embarrassing! All of this has been common knowledge for a long time. ^^
It doesn't look much better than the Tekken on the PSN.
I do think that the scrolling Streets of Rage style bonus game looks cool though. You lot need to see Bloodline Rebellion in full-flow. Honestly, it looks really, really nice. Certainly a hellavalot faster than T5 and Dark Resurrection by a long-shot.
Personally looking forward to this game anyway. They've improved Yoshimitsu and Law the most - Yoshimitsu has been almost totally re-done. two things i hate about tekken - the idiocy (fighting pandas, wooden tree men etc) and the over the top lighting effects.
bang! punch in the kisser and an ominus green gas cloud appears then disperses.
minimal blood spatter would be better instead of multi-coloured pixie dust.
would love it to be grittier, just feels a bit silly next to VF.
i do like the one-button per limb control though. What's the character count at now? it must be ridiculously high at this stage. Does anyone know why it's taking Namco so long to bring this out on the consoles???. "Lars Alexanderson and Alisa Bosconovich, are new to the series and exclusive to the console versions of the game."
Is this some kind of joke, or just really really awful journalism?
These two characters are NOT exclusive to the console versions of Tekken 6, and they are NOT new either! They were both introduced in the Tekken 6: Bloodline Rebellion arcade upgrade, which was released more than SIX MONTHS ago!!! It was confirmed MONTHS ago that the console versions of Tekken 6 will be based upon the most-recent arcade version! Why is Marshall handling that girls head?
and did anyone else notice Heihachi is supposedly Lars's father? Great series and I'm sure this sequel will also be fantastic fun and frantic compared to the yawnfest "fighting sims" out there that take themselves WAY too seriously. Paul Pheonix and Marshall Law must be about 50 yrs old in the Tekken storyline now.
God knows how old Heihachi is. He was about 45 in the very first Tekken. According to Wikipedia, its got 42 characters, which includes these 2 new chracters.
I say new, but as another_lover says above, these 2 characters have been around since the Bloodline Rebellion version of Tekken 6 came out in Japan last December. Comes to something when you can get more accurate info from an open source website than a professional one. looks like the same old s*** to me |
