As a named product as opposed to quality product, yes im sure it would A bit disappointed with The Sims to be honest. Not quite the leap I was expecting, but still a solid game by any means. Funny how they called it Prototype. Maybe they will release a fully fledged version next time.
Over-hyped Duff. Show a bit of violence in the screenshots and the kids'll be all over it. oh come on Mark, it did exactly what it said on the tin. mindless violence and destruction. i'm loving gliding over NYC and then picking some unsuspecting target to demolish with the bulletshot. stealing the choppers is fun too. still only managed to consume 10 pedestrians too.
have to say i restarted inFamous last night on hard to go the dark side and playing prototype has just got me ready for not giving a flying **** about the innocents. Played the PS3 version of Prototype at the weekend and have to say it's a pretty cool game with a rock solid frame-rate and some cool super-powers...the only thing that spoilt it for me was the difficulty, which even on "normal" was rock hard, or maybe it's just me getting old and slow along with the reflexes. I don't think it was overhyped, just marketed well-which has obviously paid off (something some companies STILL don't get).
Like ensabahnur said, it does exactely what it said on the tin and it's quite enjoyable as mindless violence goes. Kind of like watching a trashy movie on a Friday night. Doesn't have to be cerebral, just a bit of a laugh. I say over-hyped because everybody (including websites) said it was going to be awesome. I played it at a friends house and we were pissing ourselves at how rubbish it was. Needless to say, he traded it in the next day for VT2009.
At least it gave us a laugh. VT2009, on the other hand, is boring as hell.
If you're reading, Scotty, you've got terrible taste. I'm interested in how Prototye is fairing against Infamous in terms of sales, 'cos personally to me Prototype looks a lot better yet all the PS3 fanboys keep raving on about Infamous. being multiplatform i'd probably say Prototype will sell more (as long as the fanboys can see past the fact its not inFamous). but being an owner of both games i'd say there's not much between them, they're both good. infamous i though was just a bit too short and Prototype just gets a bit hectic later on in the game. if you've got the machines and the cash i'd say get both, they're certainly worth it. I think it totally depends on which one you play first.
I brought Prototype and love every minute of it...even the craziness of the later levels.
Infamous afterwards was boring, and my god, sooooo slow compared to prototype. Must..slowly...climb...building..to zap...box...arghh infamous is my mum's roast chicken and prototype is dried left overs from my local carvery, and yes i do own both games. yum dried leftovers Ghostbusters is a more enjoyable game then inFamous, I've not finished the first island on inFamous yet, it's a bit boring really, Ghostbusters will be completed very soon tho and I'm taking my time with it. As I said in a previous post I am boycotting the Motion plus in protest to the way Nintendo are ripping us game fans of our hard earned cash (Ł72 to Ł75 for a Motion Plus enabled 2nd controller! No you didn't read that wrong, Ł75!!) with their extortionate hardware prices.
It'll be interesting how well the Motion Plus does...Do people really love the Wii that much to fork out ANOTHER Ł20 for an add on to make it a true motion controller (Which the conned us into believing that it was at launch)? or are the majority of fans disilussioned like me?? Apparently you can order Ghostbusters for the Xbox 360 from the US region free...Still, that may be more hassle, more costly and entail more of a "Do I risk it being NTSC after all?" factor for the European customers than many are willing to endure. |
