Conduit dev reveals Gladiator A.D.

Inspired, but not licensed, by the 300 movie
High Voltage, developer of The Conduit, has revealed its next Wii game will be a fighting game set in ancient Rome called Gladiator A.D.

The developer describes the title as brutally violent and says it's inspired by 300. "The concept for Gladiator A.D. is to recreate the brutal fighting and high tension of the gladiatorial arenas of ancient Rome," the firm told IGN. "We are developing a game that is both fast-paced and tactical in nature."

Players choose a gladiator before fighting in competitions and winning support from crowds on route to the Coliseum. The storyline will be different depending on which gladiator you choose.

Combat will be based on movements such as slicing and slashing with the Wii Remote and Wii MotionPlus accessory. There'll also be multiplayer.

Shouldn't it be inspired by Gladiator then not by 300?

No that would be too simple haha!

no, it would be too simple to miss out fact that 300 was a graphic novel published in 1998 before it became a film. So you could say Gladiator was inspired by 300 and so in turn what the article states is actually chronologically correct in terms of providing inspiration for Conduit's new game.

Or quite possibly 300 and Gladiator were inspired by Spartacus. Or maybe, just maybe all of the above were inspired by actual historical events. Shocking!

is this the unseen amazing game that they were going to wow us with at E3?

could be intriguing with gladiator and animals pitted against you.

ign seem to be the source

Yes, both 300 and Gladiator were insipred/based on historical events but as CVG states the game got it's insipiration from 300, except 300 isn't about gladiators it's about spartans, so being insipred by Gladiator would make a hell of a lot more sense. Don't you think?
