Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2: Deadpool video

Activision sequel looking better than expected
Activision's released a new trailer for looking-better-than-expected sequel Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2.

The trailer showcases "merc with a mouth" Deadpool of X-Men fame, who's apparently in the follow-up by popular demand.

"We knew that Deadpool was a fan favourite, so we wanted to make sure his powers set the bar for being wicked cool and fun to play," says Junior Animator, Katie Orcutt on the official site. "We did a lot of research - reading his comics, looking up videos, and trying to determine what kind of fighter he is"

It's out in the autumn.

ahhh Deadpool, a fantastically funny character shafted by the hollywood movie machine.
well at least he'll be properly portrayed in this game. enjoyed the first one so this should be one to keep an eye on.

" Do i still think in those little yellow boxes?" "Oooh i missed you, little yellow boxes. What fun we shall have together!"

I'll reluctantly accept that Deadpool is proof that Rob Liefeld isn't a plaguirising, egotistical, money-grabbing a**e-clown.

OK....and maybe Cable too - but that's it!

:D Cable is his only creation that can't be traced to anyone else, but then thats cause his origin story's been retconned so many times now. Deadpool is very similar to Deathstroke though.
plus i always found his art work to be a bit too veiny and muscle bound. a little too homo-erotic.
and Youngblood sucked the big one.

I thought that there were a few people that have disputed Liefields' claim of creating Cable - I could be wrong, but I'm sure one of the X-Men editors had the idea for him originally, but they'd given him the working title of 'Soldier X'.

Liefield was (is) a terrible artist - he has literally no concept of proportion. I remember reading one of the Captain America comics when Marvel passed the character over to him (after Onslaught) - there was a scene where he was standing opposite this other guy who came up to Caps waist!.....awful, awful, awful...and that's just the artwork, don't get me started on his writing!

»»i meant Cable was an original character whether Liefeld created him or not. everything else he's created has been a rip off of existing characters.
as for his artwork, take a look at his characters feet. they're completely tiny compared to they're hulking frames.
i can remember looking forward to a Cable mini-series(the Skorrn one i believe) until i found out Liefeld was penciling it.
Salvador Larroca was probably my fav artist before i gave the comics up. him and Joe Madureira before his head got too big for his ass

Larroca is great - he's one of those that has just gotten better, by the looks of things. Joe Mad was great too, but he seemed to just give up when he was truly at his peak (I understand he's back drawing comics again - I stopped collecting a long time ago).

I'm probably a little more old school - I loved stuff by people like Rick Leonardi, John Buscema, Frank Miller, Walt Simonson and - of course - Todd McFarlane. I'll never forget being absolutely blown away by his work on the Hulk....that issue where he fights Wolverine - awesome stuff when you're about 9!...then he ended up on Amazing Spiderman on issue 298. Brilliant times.

i hated Deadpool in Wolverine, but i think that may be because of Ryan Reynolds or whatever his name is
