Rockstar founders set up 4mm Games

Developer working on online titles for "super-underserved" markets
Rockstar co-founders Jamie King and Gary Foreman have set up 4mm Games, a New York-based independent developer set to focus on online games.

It currently has two unannounced titles in the works, which it could introduce online or on mobile platforms before bringing them to consoles.

Executive VP Paul Coyne said the company's online games will be casual titles and that the firm plans to target "super-underserved" markets like female audiences.

"It is an utterly unprecedented time in the history of videogames, as the web and new business models disrupt the existing value chain," the company's CEO, Nicholas Perrett, told Variety.

I read "super underserved" as "super undeserved" which I thought was funny.

But it sounds like just another version of PopCap. It annoys me that people feel the need to point out that they're marketing stuff at women. If you want the WiiFit market, just say "casual games" or "fitness titles", don't say "games for women". Strikes me as a little derogatory.

i agree, i have a wii and wii fit, both my wife and my 2 girls plus me play on it. Its a family casual audiance not a woman or man thing. So well said!
