TF2: Sniper's new toy revealed

Anti-Spy shield for the long ranged class
Valve's revealed one of the new toys included in Team Fortress's Sniper update; the Razorback shield.

"The Razorback is a beautiful hand-carved tribal shield, built using indigenous techniques passed from father to son since before recorded time," Valve explains on its website "Sometimes the old ways really are the best ways. And after using the Razorback in the field, we quickly discovered this was not one of those times.

Apparently, the new toy will allow Sniper's to get more up close and personal in their combat encounters - and it'll also provide added protection against back-stabbing spies.

"All the tribal craftsmanship in the world, it turns out, cannot stop a modern butter knife. So we taped a car battery to it," says Valve.

"Sure, the added weight of the redesigned Razorback'll slow you down a little. But any poor sap dumb enough to backstab you while you're sporting one is getting a surprise to the tune of 10,000 volts. Plus, if they want to stab you again, they'll have to wait until their knife cools down. Which is lucky for you, since the Razorback collapses into a million finely crafted pieces after a single stab."

The update's also set to include the new Huntsman bow weapon and Playload Race game mode.

The orange box is one of, if not the best thing I have ever bought for my 360, but I really don't find myself playing TF2 too much and I don't know why as it is a great game.

yes but this isnt really meant for you xbox players if you didnt realise... valve couldnt give a rats ass about you, this is for people who play it on the PC where there is a massive fanbase

Agreed with Will, I foolishly bought this for the Xbox 360, Now Valve's prioritys in terms of updates are not on the Xbox 360, ah well. :) Dont care that much lol.

Not sure if you were joking in this (sarcasm detector is not working at the moment but guessing so) but the extra content is not available due to memory restictions on the xbox. Being fantastic, Valve love all people and are therefore finding a way to include all this extra content.

Really you should try it more (even on the xbox), it is a great game.

They don't love us PS3 owners, but luckily I got the Orange Box for PC, so I'm getting the awesome updates regardless :D

I reckon they're waiting for all the updates to be made available then release it as one big update for the 360. That's what I am hoping for!

I hope not. While i have it on both the PC and 360 i hope that the content isnt just packed together as one for these two reasons:

1. Mircosofts New Rules mean that you cant have achievements for dlc unless you make people pay for it. Obvious shot at valve really for both tf2 and l4d. Thats the reason why the 360 L4D dlc didnt have the new achievements that it included on pc.

I think valve might realse them all at once like you said but in seperate dlcs priced at 1 each. That will show Microsoft

2. Only 250 Points are allowed for each dlc that includes achievements. Seeing as how tf2 now has well over 100 achievements added post launch it would be difficult to implement them in one dlc. I suppose they could just include each achievement at 1 gamerscore each but tbh that would become fustrating and no one would bother getting the achievements.

Man I hate fanboys, either breed.

Anyway, this news is old news already. Go to the official site and see for yourself
