Ubi teases Splinter Cell: Conviction

Official website updates after two year blackout
Ubisoft has begun teasing illusive stealth outing Splinter Cell: Conviction, after the developer went "back to the drawing board" and took the game into the shadows for almost two years.

In an update on the official Splinter Cell website, the publisher's slapped up a new Third Echelon logo along with the message "if you have any information on Sam Fisher, please report it here".

Conviction - originally (and presumably still) planned as an Xbox 360 and PC exclusive - has recently been confirmed for release this year, thank goodness.

There's no information on the new direction the game may have taken since we last saw it, but an Ubisoft spokesperson recently commented: "we can tell you that the gameplay has evolved, similar to what happens in every game's development process, and you won't be disappointed." We hope not.

Expect more from E3. Read all about how Conviction used to be in this preview.

says the guy who hates MGS.

MGS back-handers this borefest into the middle of next week.

the puzzles are pure anal, and the gameplay is astonishingly dire. utter tripe.

Hope we get some solid info on Sam at E3, Chaos Theory was one of my favourite Games last gen.

Some people need to be shot.!!

Ermmm - yeah, whatever. Personally, I love Splinter Cell and hate MGS...they're not remotely comparable - sure, people refer to them both as 'stealth' games, but most already know that stealth is a necessity in Splinter Cell and negligible in MGS.

Anyways, I'm really looking forward to this. I'm hopeful that it retains what makes Splinter Cell so good - I was worried that it was going to become too much like Assasins Creed.

:)

Suprise suprise. Stop the press, grasshopper hates something!

And just to let you know, you are not Moses or Mohammed and youre word is not Gospel.

People arent wrong for liking or enjoying something you dont, if anything if you dont like im more inclined to try it. What does that say?

I'm so buying this when it comes out now. If it's as dire as Chaos Theory was, I'm sure I'll enjoy it immensely.

svd_grasshopper please try to pull sonys cock out of your mouth from time to time and actually play some games that arent on the PS3. Cos at the moment your fanboy comments have zero fact or basis, thus they are void and should be ignored as you clearly have no idea what you are talking about.

I love the MGS series and thought splinter was ok till I played chaos theory which I thought was awesome. They are both stealth games but done in a very different way and both done well.
So im looking forward to conviction, I liked the way it looked before the took it back to the drawing board, so hopefully this will be even better. I Liked the Bourne route it had taken.

where did i say my word was gospel?

do i need to attach 'in my opinion' to the end of everything for the sake of idiots who cant tell the difference between a cold fact and a personal voicing.

you like it, i think its drab bolloks.

and you big it up because i dislike it says your a retard.

there are things i like that you do too. so are you gonna say im right then - only because its YOUR opinion (gospel like), or are you gonna distance yourself from it because i like it? (child like)
Posted by NinjaWizard
so grasshopper, you are saying you looked up this page about game you hate and decided to leave a comment about how much you hate it!? what does that say about you. Of course you are allowed an opinion, but seriously whats the point?
There is a running fanboy theme with you, I not on this website a great deal but whenever i am i see pathetic comments from you bigging up everything sony and spitting on everything else, you have some issues, get help.

We all come on here to express our opinions on Games and that is all they are, opinions. I dont have a problem with you disagreeing with something I like or vice versa however I do have a problem with the tone of you comments. They are pretty hate fuelled.

This is a public forum so disagreements will be expected just try not to make people feel bad or inferior to you if they disagree with you and im sure well all enjoy coming on here a lot more.

Its nice to be nice, you know?

so are your opinions god like or child like?

you need to pick one. go on.

or else admit your wrong that you'd be interested in something purely because i wasnt.

Cool, really looking forward to this. Some gameplay at E3 please.

My opinions are my opinions, they are neither God like or child like (I hope). When I said im interested in a Game you dislike its not because you dislike it, its because you hate it with such a passion that I want to know if this hate is justified or not.

Continue to post whatever you like just maybe think of the weay that some people may interpret it, thats all.

sony make plenty of shite too. and, unless iam mistaken, this game is coming out on ps3 too?! so your logic is duff.

yes, iam allowed my opinion... but to say its pointless to post it unless its positive is pathetic.

would you rather everyone agree with you. its idiots like you that hype stuff up for no reason.

i think you get an ever-increasing stiffy with every reply that is in agreement with your own.

your positive replys are just as pointless as my negative ones.

i know it though, thats the difference.

Nope, Xbox360 and PC exclusive as things stand.
Posted by svd_grasshopper
well, im heart broken you can be sure of that.

the other splinter cell came out on ps3.

wasnt slating it because it was 360 exclusive. slating it because its mundane.
Posted by loopy bubbletush
In your opinion. ;)

I bet you're getting a real stiffy out of baiting all these posters, I hope it was satisfying... wait, no... orgasmic for you.
Posted by svd_grasshopper
baiting? is this the sam fisher fan club or something?!

this space isnt reserved for glowing comments only, sorry bud.
Posted by Noobsaibot
Can't wait for this myself either.
Posted by loopy bubbletush
It's not reserved for baseless shitegobbing either...

Would you like to come up with a meaningful critique? You know something better than:

or:

Eh?

Maybe you'd like to give us an in depth analysis of the differences between this and your game of choice? The pros, the cons, etc....

Who knows, there may even be a lucrative career in games journalism beckoning if you come up to muster.

Until you do, I'll call for what I see it as... pure baitmongering. Please feel to try again by all means though.

I like both MGS and Splinter Cell, though SC just about shades it as there are too many :? moments in MGS for me.
Posted by voad
I disagree, the gameplay in MGS is a bit clunky and dated. The stealth aspect in those games is not as thrilling as it is in the Splinter Cell games. They also have a better story by default since they make sense and aren't ridiculously over the top or over dramatic to the point that they make you cringe. Or the fact that you actually get to play the game instead of sitting and watching action sequences that look like they were thought up by a teenage DBZ fan. But to each his own I guess :)
Posted by NinjaWizard
Haha just when i thought your IQ couldnt get any lower. Of course your welcome to your negative views, i sure as hell have them with alot of games but the difference is i bring it up in a objective manner, up for discussion and so forth. Not like a ranting 11 year old like you.
And the pure fact that everyone else on here is calling you an idiot doesnt make you wonder how you come across? Christ you must have a hard time holding on to friends let alone girlfriends with your attitude.
Posted by kleaneasy
How can you slat something for being mundane when you know nothing about it? :?
