    This Update is based on the ward-level correlation of a series of demographic variables with votes cast in the Greater London Authority (GLA) Mayoral and Assembly elections. These correlations are calculated for both the 2004 and 2008 elections.

  • The London Elections - 1 May 2008
    These were the third Greater London Authority elections with well over half a million more Londoners voting than in 2004. This report will present the full results of each election for the Assembly constituency areas and summary results for local authority areas.

  • London Council By-Election Results – May 2006 to July 2008
    Briefing number: 2008-26
    This briefing updates the report of the London Borough council elections May 2006. It contains details of 46 London by-election results including turnout, change in vote since May 2006 and reason for the by-election. The analysis is presented using maps and tables and include a summary of current council political compositions, which also takes account of changes in party of councillors that are not due to by-elections.

  • The 2008 Election Results Summary
    Briefing number: 2008-19
    The Mayoral and Assembly Elections took place on 1st May 2008. In an election notable for a much-increased turnout, the head-to-head Mayoral election saw, Boris Johnson receive almost 1.2 million votes, which represented 53 per cent of the vote compared with 47 per cent for Ken Livingstone. This briefing gives a summary of the 2008 London election results, including the Mayoral, Assembly Constituency and Assembly London-wide elections.
