Conduit dev does Astro Boy

Pant-wearing robot boy gets game along with CG film
D3Publisher has reaffirmed plans to publish a new Astro Boy game to sit alongside the upcoming CG film this autumn.

The game, developed by Artoon for DS, and by Conduit dev High Voltage for Wii, PSP and PS2, will give you control of the flying robo boy, complete in his pink boots and shiny black pants, in a quest that closely follows the plot of the film.

The really good news is that his 'Butt Machine Guns' will feature, as will his fat enemy-wrecking Arm Cannon and Finger Lasers, which you'll use to "battle hordes of robot enemies and colossal bosses including some never-before-seen enemies across Metro City and the mysterious Surface". Sweet.

"Using an intuitive combat system that adds depth to gameplay, players will experience classic platform action and exhilarating flight combat levels as they use Astro's unique rocket boosters to hover, avoid enemies and zip out of the way of danger," explains D3P.

No screens yet, though. The movie, from Summit Entertainment, will be out in October.

And if you're wondering why we sound so excited about an Astro Boy game, Astro Boy: Omega Factor is your answer. Yes, that was by the legendary Treasure. But if this is half as good we'll be queuing outside shops.

I know what you're sating CVG Omega factor was bloddy awesome.

Considering High Voltages dedication to making decent games for the wii i have a feeling this'll turn out rather nicely too.

HVS are making and effort with the Conduit, and they don't have any time restriction and limits other than Nintendo's dumb rules, this however will be just another crappy movie tie-in.

has this years crappy movie ties in taught you nothing. they're getting better. Well except wolverine on the wii, that was complete dross. and the coraline game.. ok maybe they are still shit.

But come on its Astroboy, that has to account for something.

Astro boy on the GBA was awesome but I dont think I ever got round to finishing it(did it get really hard at the end???). Anyhoo, that and Gunstar Heros really kept my GBA busy for a while. We could do with a good old Astro Boy side scroller on the Wii.
