Demographics are the statistical characteristics of populations. They are used to describe countries, regions, cities, towns, neighborhoods, and the households and people within them. They tell us information such as:

• Population levels
• Population trends and projections
• Age distribution
• Income distribution
• Race
• Education levels
• Types and levels of employment
• Types of housing
• Sizes and types of households
• Buying behavior
• Lifestyles

In addition to Census 2000 information, the demographic study includes current year estimates and five-year projections. The source of this and the PRIZM_NE data is Claritas, Inc., a leader in providing demographic information. (For more information about Claritas, visit www.Claritas.com.)

Religious Survey Data comes from a 2002 National Survey conducted by the Lutheran Church Extension Fund and Lutheran Hour Ministries. Results of this survey were forwarded to Claritas, Inc., which uses the data and statistical analysis to apply the results to your local community.

Church membership data is maintained and provided by the Office of Rosters and Statistics of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod.

Optional church member (or school student) household data is provided by Claritas, Inc., only if you provide address lists for these groups.
