Got this on the 360 a few hours ago but I'm having a major problem now.
If I play it for more than 5 minutes the graphics start glitching really bad. The textures look like a game from 15 years ago, they also look like they are bleeding into each other.
At first I thought it was just a problem with the game so I just reset to the dashboard but I have the same problem there.
I turned my 360 off for 10 minutes and it worked fine again. Started Outrun again and 5 minutes later BAM! Same thing. It's only screwing up when I try to play Outrun though.
Could it be a problem with the game or is it my 360 not being able to handle it for some reason? That's odd. Ours here is fine.
Have you tried deleting it and re-downloading?
Anyone else having trouble? I've just downloaded it again. I'll see if that helps. I'll try and take some pictures if it does it again in a minute. It almost sounds like your Xbox's GPU is starting to fail. I've heard other talking about screen tearing before their GPU went.
Try another game and see if it happens with that. If it does, it sounds like the GPU. :( Thats what first came into my mind so I stuck a few other games on and they seem fine. Outrun is screwing up without fail, every single time.
It's just done it again half way through a race, here is a picture of what I mean. It's not the best quality but you get the idea.

I hope my 360 isn't on the way out again. I had a similar issue a while back when playing Silent Hill. Does the dashboard look the same when you quite the game or does it clear up?
My Xbox died eventually. No video signal coming out of HDMI at all.
Does it still do it with a component cable? Yep, dashboard stays screwed up too.
Great, another 360. This will be my 3rd one. Luckily I didn't have to pay for the last one because it was the 3 red rings but I'm guessing I'm not covered for this problem seeing as it's the GPU and it's over a year old?
It's the old premium console so it doesn't have a HDMI port. just say its three red lights like i did and they will replace it like they did with my 4th one when the dvd drive broke  I know Microsoft are pretty sensitive at the moment about extended warranty issues, regardless of whether RRoD or not.
If they aren't prepared to offer you a free fix then I know a number of people who stated the "not fit for purpose" clause as part of your statutory rights/Sales of goods act, ie "a games console should have more than a 12-24 month shelf life!", and have had it repaired gratis! »
Yeah, CVG even posted a news article just recently about Microsoft updating a single red ring (E074 error) to three years warranty too, which is what it'll probably end up as. And something about them refunding you if you've had repaired before. So hoepfully that'll come out over here too. Thanks for the tips. I'll give them a call and see what they say.
It's started doing it on all games now. I wasn't going to get this, but when I tried the demo I cracked within 20 seconds! It almost looks like that 'vaseline filter' that came on the mega drive collection. :?
Do you have an xbox live camera plugged in at all? I remember my dashboard going funny with that. Theres a bit of a problem when playing online once you do the first course where you can change routes, the scenry disappears and your pretty much driving in thin air until you hit the checkpoint. It doesn't happen again afterwards but still pretty gay that this does happen. Anyone else having the same problem? |
