DigiDex update...
Posted by TKTakeru on Thu 16 Apr, 2009 - 12:10 am.
I had started creating a completely new Digimon Encyclopedia a few years back that I have not had a chance to work on in forever. I've decided just to keep the old DigiDex, since the new one never really got off the ground. I've gone ahead and revamped the old DigiDex with a new layout.

Hopefully this adds a bit more functionality with the side bar list and everything. Let me know what you think.

Comments disappeared and forum update
Posted by TKTakeru on Sun 12 Apr, 2009 - 12:17 am.
Seems like there was some sort of glitch in CuteNews and now all of the news comments have disappeared. Kind of lame, but oh well. :

I've also updated Digital Dive Forums with a new layout.

Be sure to check that out and register if you have not already. :)

Digimon News?
Posted by TKTakeru on Sun 22 Mar, 2009 - 08:09 pm.
This may be a month late, but at least it's something. Anime News Network is reporting that Well Go USA is releasing the first 13 episodes of Digimon Data Squad to DVD. Maybe this will inspire someone to dub the Digimon Savers movie? Yeah... probably not. But we can all dream.

Comments switched back to pop-up...
Posted by TKTakeru on Sun 28 Dec, 2008 - 03:34 pm.
I've decided to switch the news comment system back to a pop up. We never had a bot issue until it was switched, so this should hopefully fix the issue for the news system.

We've also got bots on the forums, which I'm still trying to find a fix for.

Semester over!
Posted by TKTakeru on Wed 17 Dec, 2008 - 10:53 pm.
So hopefully everyone's semester is over and/or winter break has begun or will soon begin. I finally finished classes last week.

With the end of Data Squad, news is slow as we would have expected. If anyone is interested in helping me complete the Data Squad episode guides, don't hesitate to send me a PM through the forums. Thanks!

Jeff's 'theory' on Digimon Data Squad...
Posted by TKTakeru on Sun 09 Nov, 2008 - 11:46 am.
This is what Jeff said was his theory for Digimon Data Squad:

Well, you've all guessed what I've been hinting at, but here it is (some of you were definitely on the right track):

Now I want to preface this with saying the following isn’t what definitely happened in the series, but it’s what I think could have happened, and so I wrote and directed it with this in mind. Also, in no way did I change the premise from what the original creators intended. This was just something I interpreted on my own. So I cast one particular actress in one particular role to satisfy my creative urge, and open up the possibilities of interpretation.

If you noticed in the last episodes of Digimon Data Squad, Mona Marshall played the voice for the computer version of King Drasil. Mona also played the computer genius Izzy in the first two seasons of Digimon, which I directed in addition to this recent fifth season. I never worked on seasons 3 & 4, but I had heard that season 3's plot line involved the first two seasons turning out to be actual TV shows that the new characters watched.

So, in pure Digimon style, I’d like to imagine that since all the characters, digimon, and story lines from Digimon Data Squad were unrelated to any other season of Digimon (for instance, in seasons 1 & 2 Agumon was the same, but in Digimon Data Squad he was a different Agumon, in a different universe), that in “reality,” all of Digimon Data Squad was nothing more than a computer program created by Izzy. Since Izzy’s universe was all I knew of Digimon, and I didn’t work on Tamers, this is my nod to the creators of Digimon.

So the way I imagined it, in the Digimon future, conflict erupts between humans and digimon, and the two worlds declare war on each other. Looking for an end to the fighting, Izzy creates his own computer program, a mini cyber-universe, that runs on its own, to see if one day, humans and digimon in his program can figure out how to live together in peace. He intends to use the results in his own world if he’s successful. But it ends up the same, time and time again, with the two sides destroying each other. So Izzy keeps rebooting the system and starts the experiment over again in a new virtual universe. However this time something fascinating happens; some digimon and humans in the program actually team up to try to stop Izzy from rebooting. Izzy sees this as the break through he’s been waiting for, so he stops his plans to re-boot, and he let’s the program run a little longer to see what they do next in order to live together in peace.

Again, I’m not saying this happened, and I’m not saying this is what the creators planned, but I’m just saying, by having Izzy’s voice coming out of the computerized King Drasil, then perhaps it’s not too far a stretch to imagine the scenario I interpreted. By the way, did you notice that every form of King Drasil was voiced with a computerized sounding effect, hinting that in the end, he might be a computer himself? Next time you watch the series, pay closer attention to the dialogue when they talk about King Drasil. He lives in the Server Tree, which Thomas figures out is a giant computer running the Digital World, etc., etc. The hints of a conspiracy theory are there. I should know; I put them there!

I hope you all enjoyed watching “Digimon Data Squad” as much as I enjoyed making it. –Jeff Nimoy

Data Squad Episode 45 - A Family Quarrel
Posted by TKTakeru on Mon 13 Oct, 2008 - 10:53 am.
Dollarh3ro had uploaded Digimon Data Squad episode 45, A Family Quarrel. You can see the episode here. And just as a side note, Toon Disney is beginning to show up again on my tv, so I was able to watch the episode as it aired.

No new attacks introduced in this episode. There were a few small cuts made of Rosemon's assets bouncing as well as Marcus's fist squishing King Drasil's face. But that's about all I believe. Did I ever mention how much I love BanchoLeomon?!

MirageGaogamon Burst Mode's new attack is Final Mirage Burst. Ravemon Burst Mode's new attack is Crimson Formation. Rosemon Burst Mode's new attack is Jewel of Heart. ShineGreymon Burst Mode's new attack is Final Shining Burst. And Marcus's new attack is Human Potential.

Human Potential and A Family Quarrel
Posted by TKTakeru on Sat 11 Oct, 2008 - 12:05 pm.
Hey everyone! Don't forget to watch Data Squad tonight and tomorrow night. They're really good episodes, and I cannot wait to see them. I'll try to work on getting the episode guides and screen shots updated this weekend if I can. I have a midterm paper due to be submitted online by Sunday night, but hopefully I can squeeze in a small update if I get bored of working on the paper.

Data Squad Episode 43 - Justice Equals Power!
Posted by TKTakeru on Sun 05 Oct, 2008 - 11:19 pm.
Dollarh3ro has uploaded episode 43 of Data Squad to YouTube. You can click here to see the episode for yourself.

Leopardmon's voice is really fitting. His attacks are Black Aura Blast and Extinction Wave. He sometimes referred to his sword as either Sword of Annihilation or Sword of Destruction before the use of the attacks- not sure if that was a translation error or a difference between the attacks. Ravemon Burst Mode's attack is Mourning Dance. Rosemon Burst Mode's attacks were Kiss of Breathe and Charite.

New layout, and Data Squad tonight!
Posted by TKTakeru on Sun 05 Oct, 2008 - 05:48 am.
I finished up working on a new layout and have installed it onto the site. It's pretty different from the usual TDP layout, but I'm happy with it. It's a welcome change. ^.^ Thanks to WtW for the scan of Imperialdramon on the banner.

I will have to do a few small changes in concern with individual pages after I sleep so if something looks weird now, just give me some time to rest up (it's now 6am XD).

The episode that aired last night has been uploaded to YouTube by dubdude7 here. Check it out. Dynasmon's attack was changed to Dragon's Breath. Shawjamon's attack was Hydra Decent. MirageGaogamon Burst Mode's attacks were Meteor Shackle and Final Mirage Burst. LoadKnightmon's attacks were Fist of Fear and Spiral Slice.

And also don't forget to watch Data Squad tonight, another new episode!
