"Activision has told Eurogamer that body-morphing action game Prototype will launch in Europe on 12th June. Do not be fooled by the 5th June shipping date - that's just when it's sent out to retailers."
Ivan you muppet. Im thinking Web Of Shadows + Crackdown with the Grime Turned up? Looks good Really looking forward to this Game. The video of the 'Top 10 Reasons to Buy This Game' was inspired.
No Summer drought this year by the looks of it.
Woo and indeed Hoo! And looking 10x better from the vids I have seen and in my own opinion. This looks a right blast. It looks fun but I predict and average rating, a bit Assassin's Creed style that gets repetitive.
Anyone else think that the character looks like he doesn't interact with the environment properly? He doesn't look weighty enough and sort of skips across the pavement... I can not wait for this game. I knew when i first read about this months and months ago it would be Absolutely brilliant. ARGH! A WEEK BEFORE RED FACTION! Whatatodo!?!? That's my feeling too. It could turn out to be great fun but I'm not yet sold. I'll wait for some reviews and user feedback before deciding "For" or "Against". The game looks great, but my one worry is that the character that you play as is too powerful for there to be anything that is really challenging in the game. Now that actually looks like a hell of a lot of fun. If they nail the controls then I'm at least going to try it. I'm thinking the same unless the vids are when the player is maxed out and the challenge of the proper game will be getting yourself powered up, fingers crossed anyway. Watching the video, it looks like there is lots of fun to be had, but overall, It seems a bit lacking in soul. Possibly in a Mercenaries kind of way. You know, loads of things to blow up, see and do, but little reason to do so.
I need a demo to be convinced. That is kind of exactly what I thought as well. I just saw a hands on preview a few hours ago though and one of the devs said that you find and upgrade these powers and abilities throughout the game. But yes, it does seem like it will mostly just be a big sandbox with loads of things to demolish but no real direction for the player to go, plot wise at least. Really won't know until the game is actually shipped though, it's just the impression I am getting. Still looks impressive though. Even the city looks a little uninspiring. There doesn't seem to be an identity to the game. Maybe I am being a bit harsh, but Infamous is coming out around the same time, and with its comic book stylings and more focused gameplay, I just can't see me buying into Prototype. »
Yeah, I suppose I see what you're getting at. Though, I've seen very very little on Infamous. But from the little that I have seen it does seem to have a nice dark and seedy atmosphere about it. And so far the city that I've seen here seems a little bland, but that could be that I saw the Infamous footage where everything took place at night. And the footage in this game seems to have nothing but tall shining skyscrapers in the dawn. There could be more to it than that, I think I'll give this one a rent though. If only for all the neato things they've done with the vehicle combat, disguises, powers, etc. I'll give you that the city doesn't look to have the depth of GTA, but these guys did the last-gen free-roaming Hulk game, so they know what they're doing.
We all know you can kick ass from all the trailers, but stealth is important to me. I hope its implemented well unlike in pretty much every game that isn't a pure stealth-em-up. this one interests me alot. gonna wait to buy until i see some reviews from the sites i trust. but lots of potential. love some of the elements. Exactly FUN anybody remeber that? |
