Fallout DLC still broken, admits Bethesda

Pitt players still experiencing freezes, says developer
Fallout 3's troubled Pitt downloadable content is still causes freezing issues and crashes, despite being pulled a redeployed on Xbox Live last week, Bethesda has admitted.

"Since The Pitt went back up on Xbox Live last Wednesday, we've received feedback that some folks were experiencing freezing issues while trying to access The Pitt," the developer said on its blog.

"We're working with Microsoft to get a version of The Pitt up that corrects the aforementioned freezing issue. Once the content is up and available, we'll let you know.

"We'd like to thank all our fans who generously and methodically reported what they were seeing on our official forums, via email and on this blog. This data was immensely helpful in tracking down these issues.

"Thanks again to everyone for their support, patience and feedback."

Problems with the first Xbox Live release of the DLC emerged last week, including crashes, missing assets and a swarm of big red exclamation marks floating in the sky (no, really).

If you're a Fallout players, are going to be a bit shy about jumping in on a day one when the next pack arrives?

pc version seems fine (at least mine is fine)

pc issues may be more easily fixed though, as the xbox live service means you can't get to the actual files...

MS must be loving this - stump up for some exclusive DLC and then the developers (I assume) cock it up royal.

Thank god L&D went without a hitch!

Finished the pitt last night and I didn't have any issues with it at all. Not had many issues with the main game either.

I used to post here years ago, about the time Xbox came out. I stopped for a number of reasons but thought I'd just say this.

Check your grammer Andy.

"If you're a Fallout players, are going to be a bit shy about jumping in on a day one when the next pack arrives?"

Think this deserves a place at Engrish.com

Apart from the censorship mix up... not that anyone really cared or noticed.

Isn't it spelt grammar? Unless you mean Kelsey...

Stones in glass houses and all that...

You and he were, buddies, weren't you?
Posted by Blatant
Yes, you're exactly right.

Technically it should have been:

'Check your grammar, Andy.'

Failing to include the comma was bad grammar.

Oh, and to get back to the matter in hand, I downloaded the content the second day it was available and had it freeze once. It's been fine since then.

I won't stand in your wh-ey...

Must admit it did freeze on me half way through my ingot hunt, but being a well rounded individual I just reloaded and went back to ingot hunting later. It didn't bring down the sky or have any mass effect on me, chortle chortle...

I love you, textual entity!

that's because it was fixed by pc community, not bethesda, i'm getting refund for my dlc today, it's still broken, they banned me on bethesda's forum for spreading info that the pitt is still faulty, so **** you bethesda and your exclusive dlc!bitch!
Posted by svd_grasshopper
shite QA testing.

the game itself was broken to begin with if i remember.

DLC should have been free, seeing as there is no multiplayer.

This is a forum and not a piece of journalistic drivel (See article), but yes, you are right. I used Andy in a vocative form and so the comma would be required.

Using commas wherever necessary to prevent possible confusion or misreading is the general rule and quite frankly I think I could get away without using the comma in this case ;)

Who is this English teacher preaching about spelling and grammEr on a damn forum? Grow up.

As for the news...damn! Unfortunately I got Fallout 3 for PS3, still a great game but means I'm missing out on these goodies!

It's a shame bethesda have had so much trouble with it because it sounds great to me! you know what this means though...Broken Steel wont be out until end of May earliest.

If anyone needs harrassing about broken content it's Ubisoft regarding Far Cry 2... The whole debacle is bloody shocking! 6 months later and no fix, and even if/when it is fixed you have to start all over again.

No thanks.

I downloaded it after the initial fix, and generally it played fine, although it crashed around five times in total. Each time was when I tried to reload a save, and I had to reboot the console.

I downloaded this content the day it came out and heard about the freezing and glitches so deleted it. When it was re-released the next day I re-downloaded like Bethesda had said but it still froze during gameplay. When I tried to turn my system back on I had the red rings of death.I think there is a little more to this issue then they are letting on. Now I have to wait 4-6 weeks to get a referbished Xbox back from Microsoft and re-download the 70+ Gb of arcade games and content packs. Thanks Bethesda.

Poorly QA'd games don't cause the RRoD - a poorly made console does.
It's an unfortunate coincidence, nothing more.

Jeez always one who can leave it be. I said my bit, cleared the air, put in a little satire. One last dig eh? You gave the impression you're fed up and that I should "grow up" yet you stoke the fire with your uppercase E. That’s the sign of a mentally deficient mind. Its text book, Google it!

You could say the add-on has grammatical issues of its own, “!” everywhere. Bang!

Hey youichi_ui4, I think there is a reason you stopped posting here before. I hate blatant bad english as much as the next person, but there's no need to go overboard. Anyhoo, when do I use a semi-colon(ic);? Oh yeah and something about Fallout is the Pitts!
Posted by youichi_ui41
Hmm witty, but you want to know about semi-colons with independent clauses (IC) ;) If I were Stephen Fry I’m sure I’d have the answer :P

Anyway thanks for staying on the issue I brought up about the article and giving your opinion. That is what forums are really about instead of nitpicking at the intricacies of someone’s comment.

There is nothing wrong with a little light hearted jousting. It's when people take it personally, it becomes tiresome very quickly. I really dislike people who have intelligence but no humility. So youichi_ui41, I hope you stick around. If you can stand the freaky fanboys, it's quite an informative forum.

He's a journalist, right? Blame the editor, not the writer! :p

RE: The Pitt; I really think Bethesda need to delay games until they're actually FINISHED from now on. They gave us a bug filled and unfinished title in Fallout 3, then added Ancorage which should maybe have been in Fallout 3, and now people are paying MORE of their hard earned for another broken add on pack- I think I'll wait for Broken Steel, wait until IT is fixed, wait until Bethesda combine FO3 Add ons into a full update pack and pick it up then.....when, you know, it ACTUALLY works!!!

Shabby Bethesda, real shabby.

Stephen Fry knows a lot about Colons... Tee Hee.

i cant believe theyve stooped so low as to rush their development and sell extra (broken) content on windows/xbox live. shocking. it was such a talented developer as well...
