Capcom VP calls 'BS' on Resi 5 complaints

Don't like the DLC? Don't buy it, is the reasonable if slightly angry soundbite from Capcom.
Christian Svensson, VP of strategic planning at Capcom, has "called BS" on those complaining about having to pay for DLC.

"I'm sorry guys, but this is the part where I have to call "BS", said Svensson in response to someone asking why the Versus DLC wasn't included on the disc. "RE5 is well worth every penny of $60. A huge game, with tons of replay value, loads of unlockables, new weapons, co-op, mercenaries mode, etc."

"Whenever we do PDLC, that content exists with its own budgets, it's [sic] own profit and loss analysis with its own forecasts. If it didn't, that extra content wouldn't have been put into production, because it did not fit within the production budget of the base product."

So basically, Capcom had to charge for the Versus DLC, otherwise it wouldn't have existed at all. His argument is helped by the fact that Versus is a genuine download as opposed to a key that unlocks content already on the disc.

Does that make having to pay for Versus DLC any easier to swallow?
