Punch Out Wii date nailed down

Plus, Super Punch Out hits Virtual Console tomorrow
It was only Monday when Nintendo announced that Punch Out on Wii would release in May (along with the rest of its Spring/Summer plans). Four days later, it's nailed that date down to May 22.

Nintendo has also confirmed that Super Punch Out - our favourite version that debuted on Super NES - will hit the Virtual Console on March 20. Sweet!

Despite the new polygonal visuals of the Wii update, the game looks to be sticking remarkably faithfully to the original formula - you control up-and-coming boxer, Little Mac, taking out comedy opponents - including old favourites Von Kaiser, King Hippo and Doc Louis.

New controls let you use the Wii Remote and Nunchuk to fight (similar to Wii Sports Boxing, we suppose), although you can also flip the Remote on it's side and use it as a traditional controller to play the game as it used to be all those years ago. Which is probably what we'll do.

Is nintendo starting a trend to release big DS games an big wii games on the same day?

Madworld and GTACW are both out on the 20th of March. (I know there not nintendo games, but, there both ninty exclusives). And now Punch out and Pokemon platanum are out on the same day too.

I only have a DS so i'm not too bothered, lol, but you get my point. 70quid if you want both on launch. :? .
