Basing stuff on a franchise is cute and clever, but it does limit the scope somewhat.
One of my biggest desires though is running water. You could use it to move objects around, create waterfalls to spin wheels, reach different heights. Nightmare to program in a believable way though. I'd like to be able to use sackboy characters in my level, so that you could interact with them. Maybe for the purpose of simple RPG mechanics. played this 4 30 mins got bored, have not touched it since . I'm I missing something ??? Yeah, imagination and a spell checker. Yep I agree with that, whats the fuss about?
If you want to design games, go to college and uni get a degree in it and work for sony or ea etc.
And if you want to play a good platformer get a sega megadrive and get sonic.
But dont waste £40 on LBP Not sure there is anything wrong with his spelling there Marko, perhaps a grammar check and a basic grasp of how to formulate a sentence, but spelling seems spot on to me.
I like the idea of water, especially as it could make your little sack person heavy and change the dynamics of its physics. Or a big carrot, you can never have enough massive vegetables. There's 2 types of people who don't like LBP: People who don't like physics-based puzzles and people with no soul.
Oh, and the hidden third type are the people who come into threads about games they don't like just to complain that they don't like them.
It's the ingenious use of real-world objects like sponge and wood in the play-world environments. Using simple stuff to make complex things happen. If you don't get it, fair enough, but you don't need to waste space telling the world about it when it doesn't relate to the article. I haven't played lbp but by what I've heard I wouldn't like the controls, they seem too loose.
But the Sackboys are a mix between Awesome and just plain "Aww". 8) The inclusion of water in LBP would be brilliant. So many more possibilities for levels, and many more physics based puzzles too. Just would make me sad to see sackboy drown :( the guy who came up with LBP water is a genius in somany ways. and the whole concept of LBP would turn from like... Virtuos mission MGS3-> Snake Eater MGS3... EPIC. just think, little sackboy swimming, and when you fwail his arms the water actually splashes the other sack folk... but if they wanted a real approach, sackboys could only swim in it for reasonable amount of time, bacause there getting heavier, and clumpier, and little bubble doors, where water can't go through, but objects can... and floating obsticals, and doing cirtain objects of the game to get in a boat, or moving platform, or just a bunch of small platforms, floating, or even the spunge soaking up some of the water, to make it wade-able. maybe a spurt, to make a form of propultion for your sackperson/objcts. maybe a flowing river, where, you can lay a net, and catch prize bubbles! maybe even a drown sitch, where the creator can select weather the water will drown your sackboy, and within how much time! change the waters colour to green, turn drown on, make it 2 seconds, and there you have it! an acid bath! like that fella on the old recycle adverts said, 'The possailitys are ENDLESS' I think my level is "Really ****ing cool"

PSN: Onlytripleseven Level: The Cube I too disliked LBP for the first 30mins or so, and thought it was vastly over rated, but after the opening few levels you really start to appreciate how complex and rewarding the game mechanics and levels are - there are a few duff ones. It certainly isnt a pick up and play game at first, you have to immerse yourself in it, almost persevere through the early levels -which really aren't challenging and pretty boring but it brings with it its rewards. Pretty soon your thinking about that last goody to collect and how to create your own masterpeices. I think those that don't get it just havent given it enough time. It is the ultimate modern platformer and brings back the gameplay once only placed in Mario. I think some things i'd like to see are some kind of fuse to use in the levels. Something about hitting a button and watching a fuse burn down to a big load of explosives just sounds rele special.
Also some better physics on the materials such as the rubber material. If i make a big ball of rubberand drop it from a height i expect it to bounce not just fal like a sack of bricks onto the floor. some ripples and bouncing would look nice. yeh and sorry to sound so old fashioned but when did saying stuff like f**king become cool!!! crude and offensive yeah, but cool no! dont they realise that a big % of the LBP users are kids!!!
idiots!! shut up he was expressing himself and he wasnt talking to any kids was he? its nothing anyone hasnt heard 100 times before anyway. its only a word. I had to laugh at all the nit picky comments.... LBP is like marmite, you either like it or don't, I for one will be watching very closely to see what MM do with this solid title. :) |
