The melee combat in this reminds me a lot of Dark Jak from the Jak and Daxter series. Wonder if it feels that way when playing though. If it does, that's a definite positive. Looking pretty good. And May isn't too far off now. Not looking bad at all, but I still think I prefer the idea behind Prototype.
Electricity is good for killing stuff and powering stuff up, but I'm not sure how interesting it'll be long-term. And I object to the way it seems to be able to let him fly :) I don't remember people complaining about Mario's hat. It's a lot easier to suspend disbelief when it's something in the form of a cartoon than something that looks realistic. And I never understood why a Raccoon suit made you fly either :p
I'm not totally turned off the idea, but it seems a little crowbar-y. Crackdown with balls? I won't deny this game looks cool, but have you ever heard the phrase 'don't count your chickens before they've hatched'?
I thought Kane and Lynch looked good, for example. inFamous is looking very interesting and I hope it turns out as a very good game. I'm not going to jump on the hype bandwagon so I won't be disappointed (I already burnt myself with GTA4 so gotta be carefull) but this game looks like it might be fun. just what i was thinking...
