New God of War III beast revealed

SCEA artist shows off the Fire Titan
SCEA Santa Monica's concept artist, Cecil Kim, has got the skills. God of War III is expected to be one of the best-looking games on PS3 yet, and he's one of the men drawing it all.

Showing off his latest work on his blog, Kim has revealed a new piece of concept art featuring a 'Fire Titan', a new beast for God of War III.

He doesn't say anything about it, only a caption that reads: "Fire Titan battles against Zeus and his allies," but he looks like a big guy with a bad attitude. And a nice big jaw for Kratos to rip from his face.

Hmph. Looks like a Super Mutant that's been sat out in the sun too long. Pretty uninspired I'd say.

I have a funny feeling that he may be quite large. I dunno, it could be that volcano on his back.

Will Killzone 2 finally released I guess we'll be seeing new screens of this being released every week from now to the game hits the shelves.

If Sony put as much effort into getting the games done as they do releasing screen shots we'd see the games a damn sight earlier.

It's obviously a Titan of some sort. I swear you saw him, or it hinted at him, in the recently released trailer.

Considering Kratos is hovvering to the right of him, I think you maybe right. Kratos looks about the size of this Titans eyeball  !

I have a similar feeling. If you look in the background of the shot theres a kratos shaped shadow. For scale i'm guessing.

well spotted that man!

sadly it's only concept art.

maybe that big fire monster is the level u battle on it then he wakes up like in dmc4 final boss battle u fight that giant

True, but I would expect the concept art to be not far off the finished product, this is Sony's Baby after all.

Glass More Than Half Full (couldnt resist it!).

that character looks shite, though in all fairness GOW 3 is the ONLY title that could make me want a PS3. the original GOW as i remember it was the last great game i played on me old PS2... happy days :-)

This game is gonna be a massive system seller.

but...arn't the titans on Kratos' side in the God of War series, therefore no jaw ripping surely?
Posted by flameswordsman
Pretty much all the Titans in God of War look very uninspired and dull. Gaia is basically the only one with any detail, all the rest are just bland giants. I thought that was pretty weak in God of War 2. Even Atlas, the guy who holds up the Earth was just a big grey guy.

possibly but how many non ps2 owners would be interested in this? for some reason god of war has never grabbed me and no matter how good this is it just doesnt seem like my cup of tea. also, how many ps2 owners are waiting for this game before buying a ps3, surely the other games are just as appealing like mgs4, kz2 and lbp?
Posted by Mark240473
Pishers, it will be a culmination of games that sells a system, and not one game alone. Personally, I believe that Killzone 2 has definitely piqued interest again in Sonys machine, but a price drop is needed for Sony to snag a bigger customer base. Once that price drop happens, you will see old games like MGS4 and LBP rising back up the charts. And once GT5, Drakes 2 and GOW 3 hit the shops, I think all hell will break loose again for Sony.

But you are right in saying that GOW 3 will not be a system seller alone.

My guess is that, with a price drop and a potentially massive xmas lineup, we may see Sony selling out of consoles again. But only a significant price drop would achieve this.
