Last Remnant PC out March 20

"Boasts a host of new features" too
Square Enix has slapped a March 20 release date on the PC version of JRPG The Last Remnant.

"The Games for Windows version boasts a host of new features, these include; giving the player the choice to select Japanese or English voice-overs, improved character animations, the ability to allow multiple leader units to form unions and faster gameplay during battles," says Square.

There was no mention of whether the title will ship with the DLC previously released for the 360 edition.

Check out the 360 review here.

Nice. I thought the Last Remnant for 360 was a great game and it is extremely underrated.

These framerate issues the (laughably fake) reviews from people like IGN mentioned are nowhere near as bad as they made out, specially when the game is installed to the HDD. Same with the texture pop in, its the same as in ANY UE3 powered game.

Anyway glad to see the game being released on PC, it should bring some new fans along.

What about the only version that could be succesful in Japan? What about the PS3 version?

Square ,do the MS money really compensate the HATE you are gathering towards you?
Posted by Black Mantis
I've heard from sources within Square that the CEO is shitting the proverbial "bricks" as a direct cause relating from all the HATE.

I agree TezChi it is great and underrated and a lot of the reviewers don't seem to have played the game just gone on what other reviewers said.

I may get it again on the PC if a decent modding community comes about. I think Square Enix should do a construction kit.

I also think the PS3 owners who won't shut up about SE and MS(and there's a lot) don't deserve the games because all they do is complain and spread hate.

Square should be rid of them, they're not true fans anyway because they don't want to just play the game they want to brag about having it instead.(same with a lot of 360 owners actually).

YES! This release date is a lot sooner than I had dared dream of. I figured it would be another year or more. This just made the beginning of the weekend even better! Getting ready to pre-order this now! :D

i would get this but i hear the amount of level grinding you have to do is a bit on the extreme side.
any true?
Posted by SpoonyRedMage
No, not true, you may have to do level grinding occasionally but the monsters scale to your level so it's only if you want more abilities that you have to grind. IT's much more about strategy than level and you can always avoid monsters if you want to(I used to avoid dragons but now I rip them apart).

Ohh the irony is just nuts lol, ive always loved the Square Enix RPG's on my PS1 and 2, and i always wanted to play them on my PC, now i can woohoo, not only that but i have a PS3 and its not released for that lol

Finally for the first time in months ill again have access to my PC rig on April 1st and i can get this, excellent, ohh and did everyone run the benchmark? seems to run extremely well on the PC with half decent gfx cards. Hope it'll run well on my second rig so i can play at 1920x1080p on my 40" HDTV

thnx man
I think im gonna steer clear of the 360 version and wait for this one and just hope its not broken
Posted by SpoonyRedMage
The 360 version isn't broken, it's fantastic. It's just a bit glitchy, you can play the game without any real problem but it takes about two seconds longer than some smaller scale games to load.

But think how much data is loaded in a fight. You can have over seventy enemies in one fight and you're whole squad(Which I think can go up to 25 or it may only be 15 if it stops increasing after Disc One).

Each of those Units has their own stats and skills and weapons and are in a set place in a union, it also has to load the distance each unit is from each other and generate the commands.

To me it seems magnificient that it can keep up at all.

Thanks again for the insight. I'll prob still wait for the PC version and compare those two as i'm in no rush (a lot coming up again) but now I'm a bit skeptic (as i prob should always be) about reviews stating its like a slide show at times.

PS3 should be thankful it's not arrived yet... hateful little game.

We'll ignore the ignorant comment about cash changing hands... it's obvious you're only 12 from the grammar terible spelling.

Have you even played it Suiv. It's a good game if they sort the issues out it should get excellent reviews. It's bloody good.

The game never slows down that much for me Sleepaphobic. The worst it's been is in a massive battle with over fifty units on the field and one of them was one of the massive dragons it jumped every so often. I hear it's much better if you install it as well.

dammit spoonyredmage you've made me really want this game now as i've been dying for a good rpg for some time (didnt find lost odyssey that great) so I guess Its time for me to get a bit more broke :)

hope ebay will help
Posted by SpoonyRedMage
Sorry but it's my favourite console RPG of recent years. I would say wait for the PC version though, just in case.

Normally I would let this slide but since you played the "Spelling Nazi" card it only seems fitting that it be pointed out. See the part of your comment that is in bold. Whom exactly did you say was 12 years old?

Last Remnant on the 360 is alot better than a lot of reviewers gave it credit. It's a little different but still fantastic. Kotaku gave it 9/10 and i'd trust them over most of the 2 bit wordsmiths on the net.

IF you install the game. i know its a pain. Most of the issues fade away, the load times are greatly improved and the texture popping is no worse than mass effect. its a little disenchanting but no way game breaking.

If you're an RPG fan its definately worth a look. it's good to see Square giving supporty to the PC. last square game i played on mine was Final Fantasy VIII. wonder if they'll port XIII since its coming out for the 360 now.

I do like laughing at the Sony fanboys though. This gen the 360 has way more RPGs than the PS3 its one of the main reasons i bought one.
